Andre Ward's Fight Night Gear by Jordan Brand

words // Brandon Richard Tonight, one of the year's biggest fights will take place at The Oracle, when hometown hero Andre Ward (25-0) squares off against Chad Dawson (31-1) for the unified super middleweight title. Dawson, dropping down to 168, is coming off an April victory over future Hall of Famer Bernard Hopkins. Ward last fought in December, when he won the Super Six World Boxing Classic tournament with a unanimous decision over Carl Froch. Both are ranked in Ring Magazine's Top 10 Pound-for-Pound Fighters List. For tonight's bout, the Jordan Brand worked on this custom ring gear for Ward. The boots, jacket and shorts feature an obsidian, white and gold-accented color scheme. S.O.G. lettering is a reference to Andre's nickname, Son of God. I think the story goes something like he was with Jordan before the Super Six, but his contract ended. Then he went with Everlast, but most people will tell you their shoes suck. Hence why he wore different shoes. But these Jordan shoes are the very same Nike's he wore vs Bika just rebranded.

So Ward was with Jordan earlier in his career then switched to Everlast.
