What if Dawson dominates or KO's Ward?

I stand by what I said before the fight. No excuses from me man. No one wanted to see this fight. It wasnt in demand. Dawson chose to take it and was brutalized. I knew it would happen. Damn near every boxing writer picked Dawson. Half of NSB picked Dawson. No excuses from me. Those are 2 different caliber of fighters last night. One was a thoroughbred and one was a red headed step child. I knew this shyt would happen. I was pissed I couldnt get on the scene last night. Dawson was terrified. It was unreal. Half of NSB did not pick Dawson. I agree that what we saw leaves no questions, no matter the weight or circumstances Ward was an entirely different level of fighter. But Dawson was drained, and you can't just pretend that not being able to take a punch doesn't matter. Now if you have been predicting he would be drained and get his ass kicked, that's different. There were more than a few predictions like that.

i thought he won the last 2 aswell, but regardless of who he has fought, his technical ability is greater than wards or dawsons. alot of people seem to rank martinez above him aswell which is just crazy imo. In all fairness, Martinez did beat the s**t out of Pavlik who was once the most feared MW in the world after ending BHOP's 20 straight successful title defenses, and knocking PWill's head COMPLETELY OFF! Knowing what we know today about Pavlik and Taylor, a point could be made that maybe some luster could be taken off some of those wins, I personally don't buy it. Pavlik's career wasn't always on an endless downward spiral but he never really could cut off the ring. Taylor has always had stamina issues, but lets not forget that Jermain Taylor possessed weapons that gave him POTENTIAL to soar to even bigger heights. Unfortunately, I see a lack of discipline in Jermain that will likely prevent him from competing on the elite level again. I'm from Arkansas and I'm very proud of what Jermain has accomplished. If only these flaws could have been exposed and fixed earlier, Little Rock could still have a World Champion.

This is why Ward should have fought Dawson at 175 for HIS title. Total win win for ward. He could beat Dawson get the Ring belt at that Weight Class and if he loses so what he is still the S6 winner and 168 pound king. But the same argument could be made for Dawson. I mean he didn't any Super Six but the guy did come down in weight and to Ward's backyard. So if he loses it's no big deal really. He keeps all his stuff in his REAL weight class. But if Ward loses, the critics are gonna come down HARD on him that's for sure. So if you ask me, most of the pressure is on Ward especially after Dawson made weight comfortably.

As a fan of Ward, Mayweather, Sergio, Marquez, etc., I find a LOT of merit with this argument. I'm still not sure what Juan Manuel Marquez has to do to gain the respect and accolades he deserves. If Dawson beats Ward, no matter how he does it, there's a new sheriff in town. Ward dominated all the top SMWs. If Dawson can come down 7 pounds and beat him it would be a pretty amazing feat. He'd have to be top-3 pfp, because that's where I rank Ward.

Dawson is an extremely talented fighter, always has been, and the only thing that has kept him from being one of the best in the sport is his intangibles. I think the one resume or career that wouldn't really take a hit is Dawson's.
