Roy Jones Jr fight most of his first 17 fights around 154 or even a few pounds heavier.
Floyd Mayweather Jr fights currently at 147 and 154.
Roy Jones 17-0 Vs Floyd Mayweather 43-0.
Now nevermind the experience as that's just to outline there careers around 154.
Who wins?
roy handled the shoulder roll of james toney with ease. toney is not as quick as Floyd but still a great fighter. roy has been asked how to beat Floyd and said something like it's not his place to say. hinting that he knows exactly how to beat that style. which I believe it would. 154 is a mismatch but even p4p I think roy would have beaten him.
Roy all the way. Think the first 4 rounds of the zab- floyd fight and that would be the entire fight with toy. But I do remember montel griffin outfoxing Roy in spots, using roys unorthodox style to exploit lack of fundamentals. Maybe floyd could do it against Roy...
First off nobody beats prime roy. Second, this just shows how badly people want floyd to lose, **** is beyond pathetic.
I think its just a bit of fun. A true fantasy matchup. Brilliant defense, vs brilliant offence.
Plus floyd has so many haters because he has always acted like a twat.
theres no right answer to this, but roy is a naturally much bigger man than floyd. floyd at his biggest fought dlh who at one time was a lightweight, roy fought john ruiz. This doesn't guarantee roy the fight but he is just naturally so much bigger than floyd I would sese floyd having difficulty getting roy to respect his power and where dlh was terribly over the hill when he fought floyd roy would be debatably the most electrifying offensive fighter ever to grace the square circle. I say roy with little room left for doubt
Roy even with only 17 pro fights would just be too big for Floyd at 154. It's a fantasy matchup so I have no problem saying this. Who is greater though, Floyd or Roy? Tough call..
Roy as he would be too fast and too strong.
He would be all over the ring throwing shots from all angles that a shoulder roll (from a shorter fighter) wouldn't block.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Jones stylistically nightmare for defensive fighters (or any fighters) during his prime.
Honestly, history would vindicate those who voted for Jones after the Mayweather hype dies down.

To be honest I think his problems was down to drive they rematched and what happened? Griffin got fucked up is what happened.
Floyd is not winning this.
Follow what I'm actually saying son.
Jones had major problems with Griffin in his prime. Where Jones was frustrated, Floyd never got frustrated against Cotto and Dlh. Floyd overcame the jab in both fights, and Roy hit a man while he was down. Now, I know Jones hurt Griffin before the kneel down, and Jones was about to stop him before the DQ, but he was clearly frustrated is my point. If Jones and Floyd were the same weight, as amazing as Jones was, and as much as I loved watching Roy, I'd pick Floyd to win because of his jab.

Jones would lean back with a left hook, and Floyd has problem with jabbers too.

Floyd's experience is the only thing that keeps him in the ring. Even a supergreen Roy at 154 it's an otherworldly level of skill, reflexes, power, and speed of hand foot. I don't see Floyd taking this one.
actually a clever matchup though..
veteran experience and how he employs his defensive wizardry..floyds advantages can only do so much. their techniques will cancel each other out. Roy would eventually get his way later rounds with the size/power advantage plus hes not THAT green at that part of his career. so yeah its roy jr regardless of the limelight, center of the universe 12 round championship fight against top caliber world reknowned fighter. how would roy jr feel during that event? i wonder.... prolly nervous and excited as fvck! but really hungry. :)
If we were meant to use the 130lb Floyd the thread starter would ask people who'd win p4p.
Well then what a biased fantasy fight if the best of one is against the worst of the other , but then again lots of Floyd haters here .
Its a fantasy fight , that means the best Floyd is at 154 vs the best Roy who is 154 which probably is the 130 Floyd vs the 168 Roy only they both are 154 , they got to be the same size and at their best , its a bit fanboyism to say the 154 Floyd vs Oscar is the one that will fight the best version of Roy , if that aint bias I dont know what is .
Ability wise there is little between them at their best , both can compete with any fighter in the history of the sport at equal size , just because a fighter has fought at a weight doesnt mean thats his best weight , fantasy fights are about making them an imaginary equal size on their best night .
