i, for one, would rather see pacquiao against saul alvarez for december 8, 2012 at the mgm grand. it does make economic sense plus both fighter have huge fan bases who can bring in enormous amounts of revenue. i think there is enough time for alvarez to recuperate after ther lopez fight which i see him winning by UD. the fight can happen at 154 lbs that is if alvarez is not willing to go down though i'm not so sure it's a good idea for pacquiao to go beyond 150 lbs since he himself said that the worst punishment he's ever had to take was during the margarito fight which was at an agreed weight of 150 lbs. but this is pacquiao were talking about, he's always had to fight significantly bigger opponents his entire boxing career and ultimately win in very convincing fashion. pacquiao may find it nearly impossible to bulk past 147 without the loss of speed or power, but he'd always be able to deliver the goods one way or the other. they don't call him the mexicutioner for nothing. i see the fight with alvarez to be a very thrilling and cagey fight, a chess match at first where they initially feel each other out but as the fight goes on, and if pacquiao is still able to throw an average of 100 punches per round just like he used to, then alvarez has no chance but to get bullied by pacquiao and might either end with a TKO in pacquiao's favor or in a form of a UD. though this fight may never happen, namely because the two fighter are under rival promoters, there is still hope. your thoughts?
Pac would crack Alvarez's face similar to Margarito. Alvarez is no different. Stands right in front of the guy and doesn't move. If they were to fight 12/8 we would see a good KO.
LOL we did see a Good KO on 12/8 with Pac going face first LMAO, I'm almost positive Canelo can do the same to Pac!
id love to see this fight but i doubt manny would ever go up in weight and take it..if it did happen at 154 or even 150 i think canelo batters manny into a TKO..
during pacquiao-marquez 4, pacquiao rehydrated above 150, with a little bit more push, i think he can make 154, but at what cost. i have yet to see canelo display decent head movement or above average footwork. pacquiao's speed and movement is something to behold and canelo has never fought a very mobile opponent who throws 3-5 punch combinations in every exchange

No way in hell GBP makes that sacrifice. At least not on Dec 8. Now if Pac starts looking vulnerable sometime next year depending on who he fights then maybe Oscar will take that risk.

They are my favorite fighters but I don't want them to fight and it has no chance of happening anyway. Pacquiao said after Margarito hurt him with body punches that he was to small to take the punishment of 154 pounders and he would stay at 147 or less the rest of his career. He sure is not going to fight a banger like Alvarez who throws vicious body blows. Also Golden Boy and Top Rank almost never do business. Pacquiao is a great fighter but he is a bit past prime and could probably still fight as a lightweight. It's not fair to ask him to fight a big 22 year old 154 pound monster like Canelo. I say Canelo smokes Lopez in 6 rounds or less. We will know soon.
ask The Fututre HoF Mosley if this is true....Ad before Mosley is shot cOmments come in remember who fought that same Mosley LESS THAN A YEAR before Canelo
Pac is all wrong for Alvarez.
He would tee off on Alvarez. His combinations would land at will.
Alvarez's def is basically swiss cheese.
Pac stops him within 8.

 :?!: :nono:
Well Pacman sure does fit the description for ginger's usual foes. He's smaller, older & fading.
However ginger doesn't fit the description for the fighter of the decade who doesn't fight the big boys without mannyweights.
GB vs TR
Pac doesn't wanna fight up there anymore.
It'd be huge money wise though and Pacuqiao would have a fight to look really good in. He would tear Alvarez up and win a wide UD.
