Gennady has said he is willing to fight anyone from 154lbs to 168lbs, ANYONE
But who do you want to see him against?
Poll Coming!!!!
Floyd Mayweather Jr 154lbs
Saul Alvarez 160lbs
Sergio Martinez 160lbs
Dmitry Pirog 160lbs
Peter Quillin 160lbs
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr 160/168lbs
Carl Froch 168lbs
Andre Ward 168lbs
Mikkel Kessler 168lbs
Pick your fighter and how you think the fight will go. :boxing:
The winner of the Martinez vs. Chavez Jr. fight. I don't think either will fight him though. Martinez because of his age might want a bigger name or easier fight. Jr. probably will not want another tough fight after the Martinez one. Hopefully win or lose Jr. gives him a shot somewhere down the line.
He can't unify with someone who has no title.
N'Jikam has the WBO belt now.
if chocolate wins though... No way he fights Gennady. Maybe if negotiations break down, we'll see him fight the frenchie for unfication.... Unless the who strip him too
Do what he was supposed to do originally, unify with Pirog.
im down for that, but he isn't ready till 2013. I think GGG should take a fight in December and then fight pirog next year or whoever else is in the upper echelons of the division
Floyd fans: "he can't drop 6lbs to fight little Floyd, he should put on 8lbs to fight Ward then we will know how good he is".
I want to see him fight the winner of Martinez and Chavez. No way on earth would Floyd take this fight at 154 even if GG was a global star and was bringing millions to the table.
Floyd is cashing out of boxing, Ward is a young incredible fighter in his prime holding three belts. Triple G is a 30 year old with 24 fights. So..... Either way i hope he's not going that other eastern guy who koed jacobs route... Hope he stays and fights the best for a while, defend against the best but wtf we are talking about, won't ever happen. What he's looking to do (management, not his fault here) is snatch another good win vs someone over the hill, never fight no one EVER again despite the crazy hype and leave people like Tunney here on the forums crying about eastern fighters aren't given a fair shake in HBO, Showtime, etc... We've seen it all happen before. Now if I'm wrong, the guy actually stays and keeps facing the best including Ward, Abraham, Froch, Kessler, then I'll be the first to give him props like I do some other eastern fighters who aren't afraid like the K bros.
Did you just use an amateur fight as an argument for the year 2012? Really?
No I used an amateur fight to highlight how poor your comparison is between Bute and Golovkin the two fighters have very little in common. If Golovkin can knock out Bute using pillow gloves whilst he's wearing headgear it doesn't take a genius to workout what would happen if you take away the headgear and use 10oz gloves.
The loser from the Chavez vs Sergio bout! If he wins continue to build his reputation up to be able to challenge Ward, Dawson (168) and the winner from Chavez & Sergio!!! This guy has a chance to hit big because he does hit big! He doesn't need the Floyds or Pacmans or any of the little guys who can't punch at all compared to him. They won't have anything to do with him either both are not likely to sign against anyone who could punch hard! Ray
Poor comparison you are aware Golovkin knocked Bute out in the ams right? Golovkin is the real deal he's no Jeff "the next mike tyson" Lacey.

He beats up a bum and now NSB thinks he an ATG.
Where are all the Bute threads at now? Some kids never learn on this site.

I dont see a problem with Golovkin vs Floyd at 154. Didnt Floyd just win the 154 title in his last fight? He was making a point to Pac by Fighting Cotto at the proper weight instead of demanding a catchweight but after doing that he cant suddenly say he is big enough for Cotto at 154 but too small for Golovkin at 154.
Anyway that fight will never happen but realistic fights out there at middleweight are guys like Geale or Martinez who would fight anyone. If Chavez wins next week I dont see him ever facing a guy like Golovkin.
Floyd would school him with an arm and no legs but, as you said, 24-0 and no having fought no one by the time you are 30 years old doesn't help his case.

The Barker fight was even through 10 rounds as was Macklin for 7 or 8. He looked plenty human in both those fights.
That's why i think he's next in line. This guy is getting popular fast and i guess this will make his 15 minutes last a while longer.

Andre Ward. Just so you guys can see what i already know - exactly how good this guy is, or isn't.
I'd like to see Gennady face Martinez. His opponent this past weekend fought a lot like MaRTINEZ AND IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE'VE SEEN mARTINEZ look human. GGG is looking to be the next big thing at 160 so he needs to fight the best at 160.
And LOL at people putting Floyd's name up there just to see him lose. Man you guys need to get laid or do something with your lives. Spending that much energy just to see a guy hopefully lose is pretty pitiful.

Pirog is out till at least early 2013 so he is out of the equation for now.
The Martinez/Chavez winner or Geale would be an ideal next opponent. I do not think he would be in the radar of Chavez or Martinez as he would be considered too much high risk/Low reward for them.
Geale on the other hand, as long as he looks past having a home fight, seems to have a chip on his shoulder and is eager to prove himself also. I think he could be ideal. The winner of Geale vs Golovkin would place them smack in the middle of the picture and would help the winner land the bigger fight.
154- Floyd will avoid him like the plague. So CANELO, Lara,Cotto will all be good for me.
160- in a perfect world the winner of Sergio & JR, but I'd like to see him against Pirog as well.
168- FROCH!
