Pac/Floyd can fight bums and still be on PPV. Why not the so called 3rd biggest draw in boxing? According to his fanatics, he has sooo much star power he can sell anything on PPV. I don't get it.
Here it comes.......I'm a hater. :lol1: Yet I have said this.
This is not a bad fight. I'll watch it even if it's PPV.
Savorduh flavor drills chicano :lol1:
How so? We both have decent opinions opinions on the matter. Same people could say that I drill him cause they agree with my points.
Actually he might surpass Cotto if he fights Pac the 4th time in overall numbers. Not completely sure so don't hold me to that. I have to look at the numbers.
Key word, if he gets Pac. Anybody does good numbers with Pac
Cotto coming of a loss and fighting a no name fighter is not PPV material if you ask me. That dude is not in the Mayorga level of name recognition.
I would had endorsed you case if it was the other way around and this fight was on PPV and you would had posted against it.
Sadly I think boxing promoters have gotten into the head of boxing fans. They got fans thinking like them...that it ain't cool unless it's on PPV. Shouldn't fans demand that more high profile fighters be on regular premium tv if not network tv??
And remember, some fights are completely untelivised, and some on ESPN, Abe other channels. Being on HBO or Showtime back in the day was a big enough accomplishment.
Y do mexicans hate cotto so much man,, I'm puerto rican and like some Mexican fighters but y'all love to hate on my boy,, y'all need to cut that Hispanic on Hispanic hate out for real
I like Cotto, he's always fun to watch but Cotto fanatics are pretty annoying to deal with.
ElChicano laying down the facts.

It saves me some cash him not fighting on PPV. I wont be buying the Pac vs Marquez 4 fight. I wish that fight was on regular HBO because it's not PPV worthy.
He's the 3rd largest draw in America imo.Ppl said ODLH helped Mayweather reach those numbers when they fought, well if that's the case Mayweather helped Cotto reach and generate those numbers to break 2nd largest amount in history...the same way the next popular opponent will do with Cotto to reach his numbers with his help.Guys like the Klits are more popular in the eastern hemisphere but lack big time attention in America, that's why they haven't had a ppv aired in the US in years.
Cotto is known to be a stiff household name and recognized as a good draw.He broke records with Mayweather and i'm completely fine with it.Even if its temporary,at the of the day Cotto/Mayweather are side to side names on being the 2ng largest grossing fight in history and there won't be much his haters can do abt it.Ppl on here act as if drawing power doesn't disappear....(holyfield).Guys like Chavez jr is all a name you need,50+ fights to milkdown squirts over the past 10 years im pretty sure everybody will know who you are eventually.
And Margarito too...put 1+1=$$$$$
I do that shit some times but honestly bro their announcers are biased as hell sometimes and they score some fights like **** most of the time(at least in my opinion).
Marquez recently gotten there? Him and Pac(before he was a mega star) set a record for most ppvs sold for a lower weight fight. Most of Marquez's fights recently have been in the US, that's like telling Cotto to fight in the west.
But I'm glad you're starting to see what I'm saying. I've told you many times it's not hate but the fact that people get emotional and rate someone so highly more than what they're really are. I just try to bring them down to reality from the fantasy world they live in. If you think I go hard on Cotto just picture that x100 with boxers I'm a big fan of. To criticize a boxer, I have to criticize my favorites as well.
Right but my point is at that point Margarito wasn't a PPV fighter. He had never headlined a major PPV. The reason he fought on PPV is cause he was fighting Cotto. Cotto had fought on major PPV's before that. Marg contributed to the buys and gate, I aint arguing that.
Yea in the 2nd Pac-Marquez fight. Pac was #1 p4p and had beaten Barrera and Morales already, true PPV attractions. And Marquez had beaten Barrera to be fair. That fight did impressive #'s but it was more Pac, even then.
Marquez has turned into a legit attraction. Cotto just does bigger numbers across the board on a show by show basis. They're number 3 and 4 respectively. But they're both a FAR cry from Floyd and Pac.
Yea, Cotto is a distant 3rd to Floyd and Pac...I said that a while ago.
But he is still the 3rd biggest American draw which is my point. Sure Margarito helped sell PPV's...but the only reason those fights were PPV's is cause Cotto was fighting.
I see what you're saying about Marquez, I thought you meant the people IN Mexico. I didn't realize you could watch it for free in the states on a Mexican network. That's a fair point.
Cotto does need a dance partner, like most. But the point is that Cotto has been an A-side...his ratings, his gates...they have warrented him a ppv fighter. Marquez has just recently gotten there.

He was the bigger name but you if it wasn't for Margarito he won't get anywhere near those numbers. 350k with Mosley is good but that's not "Star" type numbers, if you know what I mean.
And like I've told you numerous times, most people that watch Marquez fight are Mexican. Why would they buy a PPV in english when they can watch it for free and in spanish on a Mexican network. Take that off and I would give my right nut that his number s would be much higher. What was Cotto's PPV numbers vs Jennings? Mayorga? Paulie? Cotto needs an attractive dance partner to sell as well. He doesn't have that star power that I've been trying to get to your head. The funny thing is that you're a smart one too so you should of caught it a while back.

Cotto did 500 and 600k with Margs as the A side. He did 350k with Mosley as the A side. Another 225 with Judah as the A side. Another 200 with Mayorga as the A side.
Marquez did what, 200k vs. Diaz? I'm not sure it was even that much. That was the only time he was an A side for a major network PPV.
Again, I don't see how this is an argument. Cotto can carry a PPV to do respectable numbers on his own. Marquez has not proven that he can. Maybe now he can after getting all of these big fights but Cotto's been in big fights as well. Their profiles have both been raised but Cotto's got a lead.

And like I said, many people can access them fights for free instead of paying for it where in PR they don't have that luxury.
But even if they did have to pay for it they wouldn't count in the domestic numbers that we are discussing. It's not like Pac-Marquez 3 would have gone from 1.3 million to 1.6 if Mexicans had to pay for it. The numbers we all go by are domestic numbers(US) so that really has no bearing.
