HBO has been extremely biased more towards the "house" fighter as of late both in their commentating and selective replays. It's gotten to the point where people have resulted in watching fights on mute, which shows how bad it's gotten. There's a very good chance that Ward-Dawson will go to a decision, if anyone, who do you think they will be biased for?
Some notable examples in recent fights.
Pac vs Bradley - HBO nearly refused to call anything Bradley landed, regardless if people feel Pac got robbed. They also didn't show any Bradley replays. Lampley talking about "booms" when Pac was hitting thin air.
Chavez Jr. vs Lee - HBO did a poor job of showing Lee replays, only showing Jr. replays though I felt Roy Jones did a great job at calling both fighters' shots.
Rios vs Abril - While HBO did acknowledge that not everyone would agree with the decision, they still only showed Rios replays and kept bringing up how awkward Abril's style was.
Mayweather vs Cotto - HBO didn't acknowledge Cotto's great consistent jab but mostly showed Mayweather replays.
If HBO puts on their usual tone of bias who do you feel they will do it for? Remember, Ward is has been on Showtime while Dawson has been on HBO (I don't recall for how long though)
Ward is the more marketable fighter so they will be more biased towards him.
Actually Ward's manager should be fired. The guy is undefeated, VERY well spoken, intelligent and marketable. Guy should have been in a subway's commercial a long time ago.
Agreed. He should be more popular than he currently is.

they'll be on Ward's side
but that wont matter...once the fight becomes a stinker, Larry Merchant will talk sh1t about both
god bless Larry
:rofl::rofl:

this too
Larry carried Wlad-Haye and made it watchable
he'll come up with some good lines in this one
he better be there instead of Kellerman
they'd favor Ward
neither is a crowd favorite, but Ward's moreso than Dawson
maybe they can think to squeeze some dollars out of him
Dawson is always shitty to watch, not interesting at all
Dawson could be dangerous at 168. He looked like a cruiser weight in the Hopkins fight. If ward beats him I would be really impressed. Unless he kills himself making the weight. But I don't want to use that as a built in excuse seeing as he wanted to do it. Has been there before and his SC coach said it was no problem.
Dawson is done from HBO's perspective. He brain-farted against Pascal (who he would beat any day of the week) and when he wins, it's a dull fight. Plus, he doesn't have a media-friendly personality. Ward is the 'new guy'. Personable, religious, American gold medalist. Lampley will be all over Andre's jock the entire fight. Bet on it.
they will be in wards favor if its close but if chad is winning convincinlgy i think they will call that too. right now they have alot of expectations of ward but the same thign still goes for dawson. hes young, a champion, got one of the best resumes in boxing and is just an excellent fighter.
it depends whos commentating though, roy and steward usually call it fair and kellerman is a fan of dawson. larry is gonna hate on dawson all night, hes done it before. he will probably hate on ward too and just sit there complaining all night, lampley will be biased towards the house fighter to the point where hes just making **** up as usual.
btw i dont think mayweather-cotto was that bad, they called it how it was imo. ppl were just so excited about cottos success they blew it out of proportion in their own mind, in all honesty floyd was on top of him for the most part and landed cleaner punches and on a more regular basis. cotto gave floyd enough of a challenge to make it entertaining but mayweather won convincingly and the crew called it.
Man I hope Merchant isn't calling this fight, I don't feel like hearing his ramblings or corny jokes about fighters who aren't just standing there swinging while ignoring anything resembling defense. I love when Roy is commentating cause he calls it exactly how it's going down.

I am going for chad
Ward bro..
I believe in everything you typed except for the cotto fight...
that was a fair one I guess, larry and steward kept on mentioning cotto's performance and jab...
larry even point out "isn't it embarrassing for Floyd who is so proud of his boxing skills to get constantly hit with that Jab?"
HBO nearly always sides with the favorite in their commenting. Since Ward is the favorite to win in this fight the commentators will obviously side with Ward. I thought their commentary during both the Mayweather-Cotto fight and the Pacquiao-Bradley fight were extremely biased.
Kinda feeling bad for Chad at this point.
He's fighting the crowd, the judges, the ref, the weight struggle, and the eyes and ears of the HBO broadcast viewers....
Don't let HBO form an opinion for you!

Lmfaooo that was hilarious you are right about Pac vs Bradley...Pac would totally miss the punch and all you hear is someone saying BOOM.
there banking on ward bro
That's what I'm thinking too. They're stealing him from SHO.
I'll be listening closely to HBO that night to see what their agenda is. I'll be watching the fight too, but hey, they aren't the two most exciting guys ever.
