According to strong sources, Ricky Hatton is continuing to train for a boxing comeback – and he will make his return to the ring in November. Sources indicate Hatton will reportedly announce a two-fight comeback shortly.
The Manchester ace has not fought since being knocked out by Manny Pacquiao in 2009 and has always insisted he had retired for good.
But the 33-year-old former two-weight world champion has been back in the gym, and sources say he is in his best shape since he was fighting.

Spadafora vs Ricky Hatton
I say spadafora vs Hatton the winner gets title shot, they've both been out of the ring for awhile spadafora a little longer, there both on a comeback what better fight is out there. This would make a great ppv bought mega bucks.. Think about all the possibilities this fight could hand out to spadafora or Hatton and most important real boxing fans. Anyway my pick is spadafora by shut out.
Jeeze there are some right plonkas on this forum!! I for one will be chomping at the bit to go see Ricky fight again.. It is the best fight atmosphere you can get and the dude is a warrior.! Come on Ricky boy!! :friday:
I think it's a simple pride thing: Ricky does not want to end his career on the Pacman KO, and I don't blame him. He wants to come back, get a couple wins vs. lesser opposition and go out on a more positive note. Good luck to him.
Yup! Well said.
Dont know why so many people are criticising him.
Also to the clown who keeps calling him a ''little elf''...he may well be small but that same guy you keep calling a ''little elf'' would spark you out thats for sure.
I know you wouldn't dare call him that to his face.
Hatton has not fought in three years, put on alot of weight and has not lived a clean life. He would need several fights before he was even ready for a top fighter. Something tells me not to expect much.
Hatton always used to put on a huge amout of weight inbetween fights and has never lived a clean life....apart from when he was in training camp for a fight. Yeah maybe he wasn't snorting cocaine but he was still drinking huge amounts of alcohol even in his prime.
He'd only need 1 tune up IMO but wether he has that punch resistance or not after 2 KO losses and 3 years out is another thing....
Khan Vs Hatton would be GI****inNORMOUS in the UK. Would LOVE to see it happen.

Malignaggi makes sense if he keeps his strap. Pauline wants the rematch and it will be very lucrative, but as we all know Paulie has developed as the hardest puncher in the division Hattom should take heed
Khan makes so much sense too for both guys financially and publicity wise
Arguably Malignaggi's a better fighter now than he was when he faced Hatton. I think Paulie would do a number on Hatton now at the higher weight (ww instead of jr ww)...
He's coming back because if he doesn't he's got a whole stable of fighters with no TV exposure. Sky kicked him to the kerb so he's having to do this for business reasons. I love him but he's got to be shot after all the abuse his body has taken
1. N'dou
2. Malignaggi
If he's looking good in victory then he can switch it up, if he loses either then it's sayonara
right, ive read all the comments on here and agree with most.heres my thoughts for what there worth: is he coming back for money?-surely not, didnt he make £15 mill from floyd fight alone and i read that he kept 100% of the sky ppv money for the fight with manny,so if hes amassed £30+ mill surely he hasent blown all that, dont know how much hes put into hatton promotions but wouldnt have thought too much of it.unlike floyd you dont see him with a garage full of flash motors, hes just been on holiday to tenerife ffs, hardly the height of luxury-which is all fine by the way, good luck to him.Is he returning cos he lost his deal with sky? but what channel would his comeback fights be on? theres only really sky, boxnation or primetime which is ppv only.boxnation is realistically the only one who would show his fights and then show all his hatton promotion shows-bearing in mind him and warren fell out.would sky turn around after ditching him and say 'oh let us show your comeback fights and we'll give you another deal' or to maximise profit ,does he want his comeback on ppv which sky no longer do so that in theory could be on primetime but then that dosent solve his hatton promotions tv deal.Is he returning to banish the memories of his last fight vs manny and wants to go out on a win? possibly, but the talk is at least 2 fights the 2nd being against paulie.boxing is littered with stories of fighters going on too long ,losing to people that they never would have lost to in their prime i.e tyson vs mcbride/williams.likewise fighters returning cos they miss the buzz or there broke.good god, hes not fought for 3 and half years, hes been in rehab for coke addiction, hes ballooned up in weight(hes always did beween fights anyway).perhaps training his fighters and now hes lost a bit of weight people are telling him or hes telling himself that he shouldnt be remembered for being ktfo by manny, that he could beat feather-fisted paulie(again),go out on a win.surely after whats gone on these last 3 years ,his comeback has got to be against a british/domstic level opponent to test the water,i fight he should win if hes as good as he belives he is,if not its definately time to retire.ndou is a fair suggestion.overall,i think its got 'bad move' written all over it.hes got plenty of £££ (hopefully) two young kids and a lovely wife/partner,and all his facalties plus the general publics support.what if he comes back and loses to a colin lynes, lenny daws, ndou or a zaveck etc, what if he gets ktfo really badly or worse! if its gonna happen then so be it,personally i'd like to remember ricky 1st time around.sorry its gone on this long..:sad6:
He'll fight paulie at City of Manchester stadium, bang 45,000 fans in and pocket another 15 million quid.
doing that "because he can" makes sense to me
I agree it makes financial sense but I would think he has more than enough money already plus he has other things going on.
I don't blame him but can't help thinking it's a bit greedy and it's taking advantage of his loyal fan base, who would throw money to watch Hatton fight a three legged donkey.
Whats the point past prime Hatton already dominated and stopped Paulie, what would beating him again at this point do? it does nothing for his legacy.
It's just pointless his punch resistance has gone he won't fight anyone with power, the guys rich has other things going on outside of the ring.
I struggle to find any reason for this apart from him doing it simply because he can.
Floyd already exposed how to bet Hatton, there is nothing Ricky can do about his style, he cant change it up, just watch the Floyd fight and thats how you beat Hatton....
That makes no sense at all, the flaw in that logic is that you would need to be Floyd Mayweather to do that. Just "watching" and what? Copying Floyd is not enough to beat Hatton or anyone. If it were that simple then anyone could be an undefeated world champion.
