Lets say his next/last 4 fights re:
Bradley
Manny
Martinez
Chavez Jr
And he beats them all UD and then retires
Where would you rank him on your ATG P4P list?
Why would Mayweather fight Chavez jr? Weight aside, probably be an easy fight.
I could see him fighting Martinez. Though I don't think he needs that fight either.
He'll murder Bradley.
I say Pacquiao then maybe Alvarez and that's it. If he wins both, there are no questions asked.
At this point, he doesn't have that many people left to fight. Who is he going to fight now? Ricky Hatton again? Robert Guerrero? Really? Come on.
He would be an ATG I suppose. But he'd only have to beat the winner of Martinez Chavez and if its Martinez, Martinez would go down for that fight. All those wins are possible...the only one which would be hard and dangerous (as of now, we dont know what Serg will look like next) is the Martinez fight.
Now..he beats Pac, Martinez, THEN Ward? I might seriously consider him among the top of the AtG..MAYBE
It doesn't really matter what floyd does, there will always be a segment of media and fans that will find some way to discredit what he accomplishes. I mean each day there are anywhere from 5-50 threads created dedicated to vetting his resume of beating over 20 current or former world champions.
No he would not be greater. Better and greater are two different words. Manny Pacquiao has had a legendary career while Floyd has had a more standard HBO PPV attraction career. I would say Manny's resume is a bit better than Floyd's but I think Floyd's skills are better than Manny's. Do you not see the difference?
It's close though, depending on who one favors in terms of resume. If Floyd were to beat Sergio, Floyd takes it in terms of resume. A win over Sergio would be huge, especially at 154-160. And if Floyd beats Manny, he makes a serious move. Also, if Alvarez beats Cotto, and Floyd beats Alvarez, there's another good win for him before he retires.
It all depends how they finish.
Boxer fighter , better greater , WTF , are you talking Swahili , , who cares if one brawls and one boxes , you weigh up their careers overall from many angles and look at many aspects , if Floyd schools Manny and then beats lets say Canelo as you said , and retires , jeeesus man Floyd would be is better , greater , and finishes out way more accomplished and with a lot more legit wins .

bradley - average record with a highly controversial win on his last fight...
manny - poor performance on his last 3 fights but with good overall record... on a slow yet consistent slip...
martinez - wins over pavlik and williams made his career... nothing special really... take out williams and pavlik out of his resume and you have an average
chavez jr - wtf???...
floyd could have been "great" if he didn't "vacation" his way out at welterweight... if he made weight in fighting jmm in a catchweight... fighting once a year also doesn't help the cause...
now this is just a terrible post....who could he have fought that he didnt that are better than these 4??posts like this make me realize no matter who he fights he will be discredited

#3 at least IMO

Bradley has wins over Witter, Peterson, Alexander, and Holt, all top fighters when he fought them. He's prime and one of the top fighters around 140-147. Wouldn't mind seeing Floyd fight him as a tune-up like fight late this year, if Manny picks Marquez.
Pacquiao is still one of the top 3 fighters in the sport, coming off what should have been a comfortable win over a Top 10 P4P unbeaten fighter.
Martinez has wins over Pavlik, Williams, Dzinziruk, and Macklin. Should also have a win over Cintron. One of the top 3 fighters.
Floyd is too old and too small to fight all those guys at this point. I can see him fighting Pac and maybe Canelo then calling it a career and probably retire 45-0. He'll be regarded as the best fighter of this generation but not the greatest, that title belongs to Pacquiao. He could school Pacquiao but it will only mean he's the better boxer NOT the greater fighter because Pac has fought equal, if not slightly better competition.

he wouldnt beat martinez. / of thread
Floyd is a better boxer if he was to lose its only because of size , all things equal Floyd wins no problems but the size is definitely an issue , 154 a very interesting fight .
top 3. dont really think there is anything he cn do to get ahead of srr and ali. unless he were to bump up to smw and take out ward, which wont happen.
martinez alone but dont wait 2 he slow down
if martinez beats chavez it adds more stability to the mayweather fight...the guys da man and he been knockin everybody out....if pac-man gets a belt then the mayweather fight is back 2 being big again...he can fight bradley but it wont mean nothing more then money 2 mayweather side on the negotiating side of things 4 pac fight....mayweather should fight bradley just 2 get the ring rust off

Lol why would Floyd fight all of those guys. Some of those fights don't even make sense. Pacquiao needs to beat whoever he's going to fight in November, Martinez has to get rid of Chavez Jr. Then all you have left is Martinez and Pacquiao.
Well didn't he claims to be the greatest. The greatest shouldn't duck :lol1:.
On transcending the sport of boxing alone, an argument can be made for him already being the GOAT. I know, I know! I'm a "Gayweather" fan... so what? The man has THE most profitable fight EVER under his belt among many others that top the 1 mil mark. His risk vs reward ratio is ALWAYS on his opponents' side. He has fought EVERYONE deemed competition save Pacman (and we can't count that one out yet as they are both still active and anything is possible). Cotto, Mosley, DLH, Marquez, Hatton, Judah, Castillo twice, Corrales, Ortiz, Gatti, Hernandez. Undefeated. Multiple weightclass champion and Lineal WW. I think him AND Pacman can make a legitimate case for some of the best ever. I mean, even Ali lost sloppily... Sugar Ray got beat by a slower, weaker, less talented (not by much), smaller man. Sugar Ray Rob lost multiple times... so why can't either Floyd or Pac make a case??? Based on skill and skill alone, Floyd is the most talented and applies his craft into his fights better than anyone else in the history of the game. He can beat you at his game OR yours.
