If it's true about Top Rank and TMT talking about an April 2013 date for Mayweather-Pacquiao, what should Floyd do???
Sit on the shelf until April or take a fight in Nov/Dec first???
If you think he should take a "tune-up like" fight, who???
There are only 2 wins over 130 that really impress me concerning Pacman. Then there are 2 that are decent.
ok, thats not what i asked, but go on, enlighten us....
My answer- nothing.
Enjoy that $80 million, get your legs back and fight Manny in April.
Build TMTs first fight card around Judah vs Peterson. Hold the card in NY where TMT is licensed.
Judah-Peterson should be a good fight. If Judah shows up, he can beat Peterson. They should hold it in NYC like you said, would make perfect sense.

not answering it because there are very few that dont rehydrate into the 150s by any chance?
do you consider welterweight as pacquiaos ideal weight class?

There's no need. Marquez usually trained down to 135. Pacman trained to somewhere over 140. Dimensions don't equal size. Pacman was 2 weight classes bigger than Marquez & stronger.

i didnt say it wasnt a fact. fact.
i said they are almost the same fcuking size. fact.
not answering that question? fact.

And you're sounding like hugh grant. Acting as if weight classes aren't in place for a reason. Fact. Marquez climbed 2 to fight Pacman. Indisputable fact.

they are almost the same size. fact. your starting to sound like rafa benitez. fact.
how many welterweights do you know that dont rehydrate into the 150s?

May vs Pac not happening earlier only hurts Mayweather, he would be a damn fool if he thinks the media will give him any credit for beating Pac.
Larry Merchant : Floyd......ya seem to have waited a few years and opponents for Manny to decline, don't you wish the fight happened sooner?
Floyd : You don't know **** about boxing and i Never get the credit I truly deserve.
If the majority of the media did criticize him for a victory over Pac at this stage, it would tell me that Mayweather and Pac were never considered to be on the same level anyway. You know how Floyd goes on those *(insert fighter) was built up to fight me, and then when I beat him..." rants, well there's some truth to what he's saying.

I'm not a fan of Alexander, but I feel the need to defend him for some reason lol. He's fought solid opposition all the way through, does get some gift decisions, but he's one of the few fighters who've set a high standard for themselves in terms of their level of opposition. His clinching can get out of hand, but I would rate Devon higher than I would Berto skill-wise. Berto has spent an entire year sitting on the side-lines, how is he deserving of a shot? I would rather see Alexander get the shot way before Berto. Berto/Floyd would be a more entertaining fight, but based on principle, he shouldn't be in the running when other guys are making moves and his career is stagnant.
In order of legacy/significance:
Martinez(160lb)
Pac
Martinez(154lb)
Alexander
Guerrero
Canelo
In terms of $$$:
Pac
Canelo
Martinez
Alexander
Guerrero
In terms of who deserves it:
Pac
Martinez
Guerrero
Alexander
Canelo
I understand the warrant for Devon to get the fight, I just don't think it warrants Ppv..if anything it should be on free hbo....plus...Devon still needs to beat Bradley.

By your own admission, if Pacman isn't the same fighter that he was in 08-09, why would the fight be the same?? Just saying. IMO the ship has sailed on this fight & Floyd won't get the credit that he would have after Pacman destroyed Cotto for very clear & obvious reasons.:guilty:
The fight could never have happened in 2008 or 2009, the earliest it would have happened was 2010, the first year Manny didn't look as stellar as he had the previous years. I'm saying Manny isn't the same guy he was in 2008-2009, but he's about the same guy he was in 2010. So why wouldn't Floyd get credit???? Manny is about the same guy he was in 2010, the only difference is the last two fighters he fought didn't stand right in front of him and get tagged over and over, and when Bradley did stand in front of Manny, he got tagged rather easily.
It's still a huge fight, and they are still two of the best fighters in the sport. You talk about Manny like he's totally past it which is ridiculous really. If he was totally past it or close to being done, he wouldn't have handled Bradley the way he did. Yeah, he didn't KO Bradley, but last time I checked his last KO/TKO's were Hatton who walked into it and Cotto, who got grinded down over the fight, who had been stopped before. He still looked pretty good beating Bradley, though he did seem to fade a bit late in the fight. I think that had more to do with Bradley fighting a smarter fight the last 3 rounds.
me................
Come on Larry, you know that's a horrible mismatch. Alexander's lost to 3 of the 4 best fighters he has fought. And all 3 of those guys did what Floyd does better than anyone.
its not about defending pacquiao. defending him from what?!
pac and marquez are almost the same size and thats all there is to it.
Marquez climbed 2 weight classes to fight him. Indisputable fact.
So I should forget about weight classes because you say so?? The indisputable fact is that Pacman & Marquez were separated by 2 entire weight classes. Fight night weight doesn't mean a damn thing. People that have gotten so use to defending Pacman seem to have forgotten that weight classes are in place for a reason.

pacquiao is a junior welterweight fighting at welterweight. forget what division they are in, they are more or less the same height, and have more or less similar weights on fight nights. marquez was 145 fight night against katsidis and that was a lightweight fight.
lol at you talking common sense.
and lol. does lopez weigh the same as canelo on a fight night. didnt think so.

he'll probably get boned hard by ellerbe till then.
in no way should he fight alexander..dude is not entertaining, a quitter, and a c+ fighter at best. He should fight robert, berto, or martinez.
but who would pay to see floyd vs devon?
me................
