When fighting on the inside who had the best defense ?

Bending down to the floor without being called on was pretty genious but of course the Duvas had the refs bought Beating the **** out of Chavez on the inside whilst not getting hit was g-e-n-i-u-s, special child.

Duran, Toney, Hopkins, it's pretty much been covered. Ward is up there as well, way way up there at least from what I've seen as of now.

Either Toney or Duran. Both still amaze me when I watch their fights.

Benitez deserves a mention for outfoxing Duran on the inside with his back against the ropes. Not the best version of Duran but that was really impressive.

Duran is the first guy I think of. And, frankly, I can't think of anyone better.

In their prime...Roberto Duran hands down! Nobody fought a phone booth fight with Duran...nobody! You had to fight inside and out to beat Duran in his prime.

duran and floyd--floyd has the most complex inside game in modern history...his counters were top notch--his ability to read your pivots while timing your movements were top notch--- duran was the epitome of inside dominance--is ability to be aggressive while keeping you confused as to which duran you were going to get on the inside made him the best at getting inside and controlling the pace of those 18 to 25 seconds that were crucial to dictating each round--- duran was a genius on he inside

defense on the inside? the best pure defensive tactic on the insdide is generally to hold you're probably talking about an aggressor who makes his way inside who was defensively responsible, and in my opinion that's roberto duran. he also had an iron chin. he was cute while coming forward, but he did not always come forward. Andre Ward, when does he ever get tagged on the inside? he leans heavily on an opponent's chest and never allows him to get off. Honorable mention to John Ruiz, another fighter reasonably hard to hit on the inside.
