Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be released from jail in Las Vegas as early as Thursday night, a Las Vegas police spokesman said Wednesday.
Mayweather, the unbeaten world super-welterweight champion, has been jailed inside Clark County (Nev.) Detention Center since June 1 for a 2010 domestic violence crime against the mother of his three children.
He was sentenced to 90 days in jail but was eligible for early release based on good behavior. Jail officials informed Mayweather's attorney that additional inmates might accelerate the boxer's release, according to a person familiar with the situation but unauthorized to speak publicly about it.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. spokesman Bill Cassell said Mayweather's release date is Friday, but added, "historically, inmates can be processed out the night before."
Mayweather's attorneys attempted to gain him house arrest, arguing in a court filing that the boxer was losing significant strength and could find his career threatened by restrictions on nutrition and exercise. That argument was denied by a justice of the peace who presided over Mayweather's case.
Mayweather (43-0, 26 knockouts) had his jail sentence postponed from earlier this year so he could fight Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto, whom Mayweather, 35, defeated by unanimous decision May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
It is unclear whom Mayweather will fight next, or when.
Repeated failed efforts to stage a fight against Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao are not expected to be reignited. Pacquiao is in the Philippines and could select his next opponent by Friday, promoter Bob Arum said last week.
Pacquiao could opt for a rematch with Timothy Bradley, who defeated him by a controversial split decision in November, take a fourth fight against Mexico's Juan Manuel Marquez or have a rematch with Cotto, Arum said.
I wonder who's picking him up from jail....

Broner will be driving the car, wearing a disguise. Floyd will never be seen again.
Can't wait to see him again.
Lets see how jail has enlightened Floyd.
Will he still be the villain?
Jail is actually detrimental to ones advancement or rehabilitation. Unfortunately I know this and I don't think after 2 months Floyd will be mentally fit for at least half a year. Some things can linger.
C'mon guys let the Manny diehards have their homoerotic Floyd fantasies today. They had dreams about Manny locking Floyd up in jail and suing him for all his money, all they got out of it was an official loss to Bradley and Floyd doing 60 days.
hel come out walking like the black john wayne after his meetings with big bubba the prison "cook"
Big difference between Prison and county jail dumb****! plus, Floyd is pretty well respected among people at or near the bottom. I'm sure he had little problems unless there were a a large Filipino population.
I wonder how many inmates have been balls deep in Floyd.Wow. I applaud your courage to post your homo-erotic fantasy like that. A brave gay boy you are.
Good For Him and BOXING!
Been a lot of things going on these last few months so it is not like he been missed...guys like Adrien Broner, Danny Garcia and Joseito Lopez have stepped up and gave fans something to talk about over the last few months, haven't really been much Pacquiao or Mayweather topics lately on this forum...which to me is a GREAT THING! Nothing against those two they are still the Top Draws in boxing but it is good to see some young guys emerge into the Spotlight a bit
Floyd could easily stay in shape in a county jail cell for 60 days eating protein and carbs and doing calisthenics daily. Shaolin monks have a basic diet of rice, vegetables and fruit and they can hang from their earlobes for 12 hours, stand on hot coals, break bricks with their heads and punch through your torso. :lol1:
People around here over react. My dad who was in a correctional facility, sure he only ate 3 times a day, but they would go thru the line get their entrees and then they could get up and get whatever else they had. Like salads, desserts, etc. And they weren't even timed when they ate, take your time type sh1t.
And me, when I went thru bootcamp, I only ate 3 times a day too but when it was time to eat I'd stuff myself bloated and gained about 5-10 lbs in 2 months. So yea, I doubt Floyd is looking anorexic like these people here think he will be.
Smh from being in county jail?
Yea, I know right.
Pretty boy was the one who said he wasn't gonna eat the food lol
Like I said, probably all a stunt.
Smh from being in county jail?
I know. lmao
Anyway, Floyd did his time. Now he can move on. I'm expecting some further announcements from "TMT" soon, now that Mayweather is being freed. It's clear that his business partner has been holding back some. Hopefully they'll have a Gamboa fight set up for the near future.
Yall blowing this size sh1t out of proportion. You're telling me Floyd can't school Broner at 130-135?
I just want this dude out so him and 50 can make their announcement and hopefully tell us when their first event will be.
And who said Floyd was being starved? I think that whole thing was a stunt unless there is/was actual evidence.

Donaire's overrated. I want Mayweather-Gamboa. I'd ask for Mayweather-Broner, see who the real "Money" is, but Broner's too big.
