as of right now TR is giving us better fights then GBPGiving us better "fantasy fights" you mean because i dont remeber reading its happening or amything other than talk
this is a fantasy type of fight, only it's a 'fantasy' that could actually come true.
I would love to see this fight, but Rios should definitely have a few tune up fights before going after Alvarado whose comfortable at the weight.

^In this thread, I talk about the possible match up between Rios and Breidis Prescott, I think that would be a perfect fight for Rios to debut and show his stuff. And it'd be competitive too, we all saw how Breidis was putting a beating on Alvy early on
Honestly, I think that GBP-Top Rank beef only applies for Floyd-Pac or Floyd vs any other Top Rank fighter. Top Rank and GBP have made lesser known fights in the past.
And Rios was not losing to Acosta.
Once in a blue moon they put a fight together. And I guess we have a different point of view about the Acosta fight. I thought he was beating Rios before the KD's starting raining. :lol1:
I don't think Rios could beat Marquez, Alvarado or Mathysse.
Personally, I would prefer Rios fight Mathysse but whatever.
Alvardo was losing to Prescott if I'm not mistaken. Still a descent fight that I would tune in and watch. I'd give Rios the edge to win though.
Mathysse is with Golden Boy and Rios was losing to Acosta so what's the problem?
Yeah I grew up in Northeast Park Hill, but I live in Southeast Aurora now. Yeah I've lived here my whole life though.
Sweet I don't see to many peeps from Colorado on here. I'm in Greeley about an hour from Denver.
That's dope bro, are you from the Denver area as well?

Went to Delgado's before his fight with Herrera, before he left for LA, and got to talk to Mike. A really down to earth guy, but he said the number one fight he wanted this year was Brandon Rios.

So how long is Arum planning on letting this one "marinate"?
Hope it happens though, I see Alvarado stopping Rios in a FOTY type war to be honest. Mike has been wanting Rios for a while now, that's the word around Denver.

Alvarado can beat Rios. This is a 50-50 fight in my opinion. Rios will benefit from not having to cut as much weight, but Alvarado will actually be as big as Rios, something Rios isn't use to.
Great fight, FOTY potential for sure.

summary of the reaction from the new england region as well
back from when john travolta was ZE man
plus karma. very very clever
What bull****, rios vs alverado is a good fight but what the hell is happening to the undercard of chavez jr vs Martinez?
Top rank sucks for undercards but it seems like this one will take the cake.
Unless they put the above fight on it(they won't).
They should. Both of these guys last fought in April. But knowing Rios' fat ass he's probably not in shape for a fight in September.
So I guess katsidis/alvarado for the JCC jr/Martinez undercard is a no go then. Rios alvarado is alot better anyways kats face wouldnt hold up.

Smaller guys, but Rios was known to drain himself to the point where it makes you wonder how much of him was even competing.
Like Ortiz, 140 will actually do Rios a lot of good. he'll be fresher and stronger. People seem to forget this.
Either way he's used to fighting smaller guys and being able to bully them. So I think he's in for some culture shock when he faces Alvarado. If he does of course...
