Khan vs rios your thoughts

Rios walks him down and stops him.

It boils down to either of 2 things. Can Khan keep busy enough & use his legs enough to win an sd?? Or will Rios last Khan's 4 round burst & outfight him to a late ko?? I'd be confident saying Rios stops him late. Rios had 1 bad fight & everyone forgot the string of dominant wins he put forth before. I find it funny considering there has been a buttload of good fighters recently that have gotten gifts but everyone overlooks those & scrutinizes Rios to no end.

If Rios can get inside with regularity, it's going to be his fight, by KO I think. Both hypejobs though.

This would be an interesting fight with both fighters falling short of expectations. Rios is a pressure fighter and pressure fighters are Khan's nemesis but he does not hit really hard.It is a 50 50 fight to me.

Don't see Rios having the type of power to really hurt him with 1 punch. I got Khan by UD.

This is false, technically Peterson and Rios are on the same level on the offensive end when it pertains to infighting. What separates the two is Rios' conditioning is better, he's an excellent uppercut artist and he's also the harder puncher. Rios' mentality is to throw with his opponents, similar to Danny Garcia, and this isn't entirely the case with Peterson who waits for the right opportunities. I also love how your saying Rios is too slow, too basic, too easy to hit, when that perfectly describes Maidana who fought very competitively against Khan and nearly had him out. To add to that, Rios is faster than Maidana, puts his punches together a lot better and is better defensively. I see some are still overrating Khan. Yup. People don't realize how technically sound Rios is offensively. His short distance punching is as good as there is in the game, I'd say better than Lamonts. He may not be that fast, but he's a sharp puncher. Maidana throws wild, looping punches, Rios's are much more compact. Combine that with the fact that as soon as Khan gets a little tired his form of defense is just standing right in front of his opponent with his hands up and I really think Rios would break him down.

Khan would have to show instant maturity. Between that last fight of his, during a single training camp, he's going to have to avoid all his instincts and bad habits and fight cautiously. Amir, in his first fight back from that KO, is going to have to play it safe and box. Remind himself he's a boxer/puncher and not a speedy brawler, he just doesn't have the chin for that. Rios is tough. That can't be taken away from him, he's a tough guy who is going to fight in there. He's the sort of tough that Khan wants to be, but if he tries to be, will go to sleep. I say Khan starts out solidly, winning a few rounds, but gets in ONE exchange, and then everything changes. He gets clipped, feels the need to answer back and fight, gets nailed, etc. downhill until its the Garcia fight all over again...

Lamont Peterson is a bigger, stronger, faster, smarter, more technical pressure fighterthen Rios and in my opinion he lost to Khan. The only thing Rios has over him is power and again that might not necessarily carry to 140. Rios breaks him down and eventually stops him. Unlike many, I'm not oblivious to how Rios' struggles in attempting to make 135 effected his last few performances. At the higher weights I expect to see the Rios that ran through Peterson, Antillion and stopped Acosta.

I used to think Khan would beat Rios ( And I still think Rios is garbage) but my opinion has changed. It is not even to do with Khan having a poor chin it is down to him having poor conditioning and not being able to fight on the inside. I could see Rios Mauling him in the later rounds.

On paper a pressure fighter with a good chin is a nightmare for Khan. I suppose it comes down to if Khan can stick to a game plan or not. If he does and boxes, and doesn't see a red mist and engage everytime he is tagged then i'd expect Khan to completley outbox Rios. Could also see it being another Khan - Maidana. Where Rios's constant pressure really shows in the later rounds, and it would come down to if Khan can avoid being caught with a big shot or not. I'd go with Khan though.

Khan will do his thing catching Rios with some hard shots but not damaging...Rios catches Kahn in the late rounds with a solid shot to the chin and takes over from there...Rios wins in the 11th via KO..... Sounds about right.^^^ Maybe even earlier if Rios steps on the gas.

Khan by SD if he makes it. Rios will not stop pressing and Khan is almost always barely making the finish line even if he gets a decision. Rios hasn't shown that he has learned much in the ring. After Khan had his first disaster, he went on a good run and I think most of us can admit he did improve, even though there are still noticeable weaknesses. Both are flawed, we know that the limitations are so I won't really even bother to get into a breakdown of their skills, but I still have to favor Khan's speed. Garcia isn't fast, but he is deceiving, he has some tricks, and that adds an entirely different dynamic than Rios. Rios...you should be able to see everything coming. Nothing is disguised and no adjustments are ever made. Listening to Rios' interviews about how he might improve and deal with different styles in the future, he completely blows it off and it doesn't sound like he has much of a plan to remedy anything. I like Rios but he has to be matched good for a while so he at least has some confidence going into this type of matchup where I think he will be frustrated after a couple of rounds.

If Khan works on his defence and certain technical flaws while also sticking to the game plan, he outboxes Rios, easy. As he would outbox most at 140 and 147 barring Mayweather and Pacman.

khan would outbox him imo How so? He does the same thing going in... and if somebody pressures him and gives him no space, he can't really do much. Rios will be in his face all night throwing punches and the most Khan can do is push Rios away to gain space. Once he's all tired out from throwing flurries the first 3-4 rounds, Rios can have his way
