I got Floyd winning at Lightweight and Duran having a better go at Welter. Floyd would frustrate the mentally weaker, Duran with his speed and defense.
What???
Really? Like I said in my original post; Leonard fought that toe to toe style on purpose in the first fight. He could fight in any style but he was a Boxer/Puncher, not Puncher/Boxer.
Fight would never happen, Floyd will demand for OSDT to avoid the fight. He would accuse Duran for using PED's then treat him like a chump and demand that Floyd get all the PPV...
Well, it might happen today now that Duran has been inactive for decades, perfect timing for Floyd..
nope really genuinley new to boxing scene ... you'll be hearing from me some more in the future ... btw floyd beats duran IMO i'm sure its been said many times but if SRL made duran QUIT Mayweather spells even more trouble for him
I have to go with Duran, he's too good defensively for Floyd to actually have success landing from long range, so I don't see Duran falling for the pull counter or leaping left hook, I see Duran successfully getting in unscathed, and getting the better of Floyd on the inside. I like Mayweather's chances a lot better at 140 or 147 and even then it'll be a tough one for Floyd.
De Jesus caught him with a leaping left hook and put him on his pants in the first round of their first fight.
Why not?

Yeah, that's fair enough.
I gave my reasoning earlier, I just don't think Mayweather would be able to keep it from getting an inside battle and although I believe Mayweather could certainly hold his own with Duran on the inside, I just can't see him winning the battle.
That is a completely fair assessment, if the fight is fought mostly on the inside Floyd is likely to lose. The fight has to be at least 50% on the outside for Floyd to really have a shot and he could still lose depending on the quality of work Duran can do when he gets inside. Floyd couldn't just run around though because to me that is not really him it would have to be a mix inside and outside slightly favoring outside.
I look at the sport in an out of the box way I do admit that, so I understand the issue people have with views I have.
I understand that you can't really say how Floyd would react to someone like Duran, it is a complete unknown but while Duran faced and beat other guys who could be labeled as good or better as Floyd he never really fought anyone like Floyd so there are plenty of question marks there also. I agree that he fought good defensive fighters but I don't agree that he faced a Floyd Mayweather, who is pretty unique.
I just find it a crutch and people are beating that to death, it really just show a lack of knowledge in breaking down a fight truly.
Saying Duran would win is totally fair game though, I just want proper breakdowns and reasoning that really matter on fight night.
Yeah, that's fair enough.

Mayweather is good at frustrating fighters but I personally don't think he has the movement to do it to Duran , I think Duran would cut him off and put the pressure on and stop floyd
That is a fair assessment based on actual boxing reasons. Bravo
lol what stupid **** are you saying? my first post only said it's hard to make a case for floyd because he has never fought at that level which is true and then i got some butthurt response with that simple post. i did not quote you, you quoted me. i don't care about you giving floyd a chance because that's already expected. i have nothing against floyd, he's a great fighter but when it's a matchup with duran, i'll go with duran period.
I told you that was a garbage argument~
Pick Duran if you want that is fine and fair, your argument behind it is worthless however if you can't show your work in a proper way your answer does not need not be taken as seriously though~
One person here looks like they have hurt feelings~ and it isn't me.

you should know what to expect from a brick wall level of poster. in the end, its always if you pick floyd you're a nuthugger or some other BS.

I don't care what others think, I happy when they disagree just the other side of a bet~
Why you so twisted that I give Floyd a chance? I believe my first post said I believe Floyd could win more rounds over 12 but would likely lose in 15, you are acting like I said Floyd would murder Duran.
Floyd is a great fighter would would give Duran problems and Duran is a great fighter who would give Floyd problems.
Who is being real here~ get back to the herd they may be running over a cliff without you~

Yeah.
But still, it's difficult when a fighter hasn't faced anything close to Duran's level. For example; Mayweather. We really can't gauge how he'd do with someone like Duran. Because frankly, he's never fought anyone who brings to the table what he does.
Duran on the flipside, of course, has. Even in losing efforts, passed his prime, he's fought people who are defensively on Mayweather's level.
But again on the flip side, this isn't the be all and end all. Just because of these fact's, doesn't necessarily mean fighter A will lose to fighter B.
So I see what both of you are saying.
I look at the sport in an out of the box way I do admit that, so I understand the issue people have with views I have.

here's what real sheepish and bull****...only you and a few other posters is favoring floyd in this matchup...coincidence? no, you just have something in common.

I don't find that hard to do at all~ knowing the sport of boxing just looking at obvious stuff is not keeping your eye on the ball in really breaking down a fight and considering the possible outcomes.
Yeah.

I take both these things into account and just can't see Mayweather beating Duran.
Yea and you should look at it like any other fight, how do they mix in the ring, what they did against other opposition is often very misleading.
As someone who bets money I find that way of looking at it very sheepish, and sheep who bet get slaughtered.
You need to look past all the bull**** and see what you think will happen, if you think Duran wins fine that is reasonable, but your argument behind it is straight week old garbage.

It is true what you're saying. It's hard to envision a fighter who hasn't fought someone or a certain style of someone beating a fighter when that fighter has beaten greater fighters than that certain fighter.
But it's not the be all and end all. Sometimes, there's just a bad style match up. I.e Fernandez-Arguello.
But I don't think that applies here.
