Marquez lost to Chris John legitimately

John is not the hypejob many here claim he is, he is a better boxer than Marquez and also has a better work rate hope he can get a "name" opponent to justify himself and get some respect to end his career I agree here, but John has slowed down tremendously and isn't the same fighter anymore. Also, as Rome said Marquez will always struggle against boxers mainly because he's forced to lead.

John may be making decent money fighting bums in Indonesia, but you have the potential to become a super star by taking on the best in the US. Where would Pac be now if he had remained in the Philippines fighting nobodies? And it's not like John is offering huge paydays for elite guys to challenge him there. Marquez supposedly only received 30k and had to go through a whole ordeal just to arrive at the destination.

I've watched that fight multiple times and I never saw enough to justify a win for John. Marquez pressed the action and landed to better shots in the fight. John didn't win more than 3 rounds in that fight and 2 of those rounds are because of the point deductions. Marquez clearly won that fight the only reason it was remotely close on the cards is because of the 2 bs deductions. And those points were taken to save John.

I thought JMM edged it, I think I had it 8-4 but it was hard to score at times and almost every round was close. As someone said above, Marquez is not at his best when being made to lead. I still feel he did enough to win though. John is a good fighter, perhaps a tad underrated but had he fought the best of his division in recent years I don't think he'd be undefeated. wow. you and the ts had it 8-4 but for different guys

Yep, JMM lost that fight, He wasnt robbed or anything like some people love to claim on here even though many of them didnt actually watch the fight. I think John should have done a little bit of building on that win but to be honest it seems he either is content with what he is doing now or boxing politics is preventing him from fighting the bigger man guys.

I could have told you that..Marquez will always have problems with a fighter who boxes and makes him lead...But I kinda think John is done tbh..Reminds me of guys like Winky..Who just for some stupid reason stopped fighting.. yea its a shame. i wish someone would have just went to Indoensia and tried to take the belt. Rewatched this fight and it was NOT a suspect decision just because it was in John's home town.
