What do you think guys? SMW really working it's way to the pinnacle of the sport, sooner or later HBO will have to buy more into it. You think there's a chance somebody could offer Joe Calzaghe £10 mil within 3-5 years?
In this interview around the end Joe says that he would definitely come back if the money was there, at least in my eyes bringing back a little hope for a rematch with my boy. But ofcourse £10 mil is a lot of money. No one has that at the moment.

yeah hes always said he would come back for silly money.
I think if someone was to put an offer together in which joe would get something around 8 mill he would come back.
but i don't see anyone being a big enough player in the SMW division to rake in that sort of cash. froch stand that best chance if he gets a few wins and i think joe might feel slightly p!ssed at some of frochs comments.
So? You'll never see any of that money.
Why would YOU want to see him come back? To be knocked out by someone he would've beaten on even terms? To loose his unbeaten record?
Again, he'd be coming back at 40+, from being out of the ring 5-9 years and like someone said, he was someone who relied heavily on his workrate etc. It would be ludacris for him to come back.
Hopefully Joe has ruled out a comeback a long time ago, and this is just something he says to stay relevant.
I'm not saying that I want him to come back, all I'm saying is that there's a possibility that he returns. And he has not ruled out a comeback, he just wants a big chunk of money as he stated in this interview. But no I don't think he'll ever come back though the moneytrain him and Ward could deliver in some years would be crazy loaded.
He says he's still training, keeping in shape, so perhaps the welshman could be a factor, I'm never gonna write off Joe Calzaghe that's for sure.
I don't want to see him back, he retired at 36 and for a fighter that traded on incredible workrate and stamina, he left right before his physical gifts started to badly degrade which was the right thing to do.
He wouldn't be able to compete beat the elites anymore because he's not throwing 100 punches per round as a 40 year old man who's been abusing coke for the last 4 years
I agree with this.
Good post.
Here's the why, lets say SMW keeps getting bigger and bigger, HBO buys into Andre Ward after Floyd retires. SMW becomes one of the big big money divisions, Calzaghe would be THE biggest moneygenerator even in his 40's.

Why would anyone want to see him come back? He retired at the right time.
And seriously "within 3-5 years"? Dude? Are you for real? In 5 years he'd be 45, and out of the ring for 9 years.

for god's sake calzaghe don't ruin your career by coming back now
u had the chance to fight top fighters in your prime that would have left no doubts or questions among fans as to your greatness if u beat them but you chose to stay at home where u were a draw and most comfortable thats understandable but c'mon dude what with the coke habit and all your best days are well behind just leave it yeah
