Who you fools got?
I think Ikehara takes it. No troll. Sosa claims to be healthy but every fighter does before a fight. I think Ikehara is gonna finish late.
Former world champion Edgar Sosa (46-7, 27 KOs) scored a ninth round TKO over Shigetaka Ikehara (22-3-2, 18 KOs) to retain his WBC silver flyweight belt on Saturday night at the Centro de Espectáculos de la Feria in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. After a one-sided beating for eight rounds, Ikehara’s corner didn’t let him come out for round nine.
In the co-feature, veteran super featherweight Miguel “Mickey” Roman (38-10, 28 KOs) beat world rated Dante “Crazy” Jardon (20-3, 18 KOs) by ten round split decision in an exciting fight.
****ing lame.
where did you get this info? I haven't seen the results posted up on boxrec yet.

I just saw Ikehara - Fuentes. I think Sosa will be too strong and durable for Japanese, he's also more skilled. It should be good fight, but I think Edgar wins after competitive, but not really close fight.
I just don't know how many times Sosa can pull wins out of his ass at this point in his career.

Eh, I can see where people might think I'm a troll. My likes for boxing in general is different than 95% of the posters here.
Thanks for the compliment though, I wish I knew as much about some other fighters as I do Japanese ones at times. Even still there are guys who know TONS more about the Japanese Scene than I do. It's insane how much research some guys do. I'm really trying to follow the Korean scene but that boat is sinking fast on it's own.
There's not much to follow in South Korea really, it's amazing how the level of this sport dropped there. In 80's, 90's they were big power at lower weightclasses along Thailand and Japan, now they are virtually non existing at world level.
I know Ji-Hoon Kim, Dong-Hyuk Kim, Min-Wook Kim, also Taek-Min Kim because he had that spectacular fight with Sonny Manakane, but they are not really world class with possible exception of Ji-Hoon Kim who is boderline.
I can see that, I just wonder how it happen that you're infamous, because you're by far the best poster with red reputation on this forum.
Not that it means much, but it's usually reserved for trolls.

Lol I don't care about rep too much honestly. I only want to show the world there is boxing, mma, or whatever combat sport there is, that there is something outside of the USA..
That's not a bad fight. I liked it, I know others who don't but it will give you an idea of what he'll be looking to do.

You want me to give some red K as appriciation? :lol1:
Maybe I will get to watch Ikehara - Fuentes before tonights fight so I can give some more educated guess.

I respect your opinion on the subject :) I just hope people can gain some interest in this fight.

I never saw Ikehara, but I saw two last guys he lost to and I'd pick those two over current Edgar Sosa as well. Sosa is way past it, he definitely lost to Uicab, but Uicab is actually very underrated fighter so it doesn't have to mean much. It's pretty blind shot on my part, but I think Edgar will win a close decision.

Love japanese boxing. They fight like mexicans and arent afraid to get hit like african americans and europeans.
Yamato Damashi bro. The reason I love it is because it's more liking to the older styles at times. USA boxing has almost become stagnant but you see tons of style differences in Japan. They are trying to find their own ways, not the ways of recent greats. Hopefully Japan can develop some higher weight talents.
Is boxing becoming increasingly popular in Japan? We know MMA is all but dead there. Is boxing the next "Pride," if you will?
Yes, ratings are steady and are even growing. People love the fact that they have home grown champions and although they aren't mega stars, they are indeed television staples at this point. As long as they produce champions from Japan it will continue to be watched, otherwise it won't. If a lot of guys just fizzled out then interest would move back to baseball or something else...... Like whaling or some ****.
I can't find the article that I had before. Sucks because it provided a ton of insight on it.
