Canelo will fight a guy from 140. But wont go up 6 lbs to fight Chavez? WTF

Cotto ain't doing **** but what he wants to do. Welcome to Boxing. :boxing: Canelo is in his early 20s and GBP and grown him nicely since the Jose Cotto fight just a few short years ago. well you have to give chavez jr some props for signing to fight martinez...I don't think a lot of us ever saw that fight happening anytime soon. also canelo's team called out kirkland when there were already reports out that kirkland had a bad shoulder injury and wouldn't be ready until around october..and even then kirkland's team wanted to have a tune-up to test the shoulder.

GB vs TR feud..canelo has called out chavez jr in the past on national mexican television with vicente fernandez looking and rooting on....hey if you have vicente fernandez on yourside then you know who is the favorite mexican fighter of the two.

I find it odd that Canelo Alvarez has no problem fighting smaller guys from lower weight classes such as Hatton, Mosley, and now Josesito Lopez who is a real Junior Welterweight.... But yet he doesnt have the "cajones" to move up 6 lbs himself and make the fight Mexican boxing fans where asking for against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. I used to support Canelo. But Golden Boys match making and protection of Canelo is getting ridiculous. He won a vacant belt at 154 by defeating Matthew Hatton, who was a 140 lb fighter. And since then has not fought any of the top guys at 154. So what do you guys think about Canelo having no problem beating these lighter guys, yet not being willing to move up to fight a guy like Chavez? Would be a hell of a fight, but I don't see it happening. Canelo is too small for Chavez, Chavez will be a 168 fighter soon enough.

Golden Boy obviously don't feel he is ready to fight a live dog, even at Chavez's level. Canelo is the fraudulent champ at this stage, protected by the WBC and GBP. Chavez has stepped up his comp the last few fights vs respected contenders and is now facing Martinez when most of us believed he'd never fight him.

Arum aint making no fights with anyone in Goldenboy so why bother talking bout it? yeah arum has bad habits, REAL BAD, but GB is far from f*cking innocent especially when it comes to Canelo. Not sure if you heard the news... but Chavez is fighting Martinez in Sept 15th. And yes I know Kirkland was "slated" to fight Canelo. My point being that to this date, Canelo has a belt at 154 and hasnt fought "1" top guy from 154. Welcome to Boxing. Slated is a word, sir. Anyway. Negotiations with Trout and Kirkland didn't pan out, and Lara still obviously has a way to go until Golden Boy makes that match, so what else do you want from Canelo? He went from almost getting KO'd by Jose Cotto to beating the **** out of a shot but game Mosley in a few short years. Do you want this kid to end up like Vargas or what? Canelo has been calling out a decent fighter named Floyd Mayweather, maybe you've heard of him? The only reason he agreed to fight on Floyds undercard was because GBP promised him the next shot at Floyd. Is that not ambitious enough?

Chavez=Top Rank Canelo=Golden Boy didnt you get the damn memo by now man? Chavez has the balls to call out who he want to fight. Many times after fights he called out Canelo. Then when Canelo and Golden Boy where interviewed they would just say that 160 was way too heavy for Canelo and that Chavez was not part of their plan for Canelo. Your answer would be valid if Canelo wanted to make the fight, and the promotions where holding it up. Which is not the case.
