Really refreshing the past while the way new names have developed...broner I don't like him but seems genuinely like a future star,khan/Ortiz/Canelo/Garcia all young exciting and interesting...rigodondeux finally gettin noticed gamboa too come back and also a stacked middleweight div.it just feels lately boxings really is sharing the load instead of looking for may or PAC to be constantly talked about
Just about everyone of those guys expect maybe Broner and Garcia have been "emerging stars" for years now
Ortiz and khan háve been "emerging stars" on like 5 different occasions :lol1:
those two would already be stars if they could keep from getting knocked out
These "stars" cant even sell out a small arena. The real stars are chavez jr and canelo
Chavez jr is a real fighter, fighting real fighters. He's carving out a decent resume lately.
But ginger, his star is fabricated. Golden boy made his star. He's pampered, babied, protected & force fed stiff after stiff, or lightweights & jr welterweights. His resume is that of a prospect, not even a respectable contenders resume. He's a joke & a disgrace to a deep a$$ division.

Khan and Ortiz are 25 years old and okay maybe not emerging but becoming more household names with there prime years ahead
2 padded record hype jobs, one wants to fight jr welterweights and the Other skips out on drug tests and gains 20lbs the day of the fight:slap:
Also Chavez and Canelo have over 40 fights.....were they selling out arenas in their 20th fight?
They probably drew bigger crowds then all these stars
They sell out arenas anywhere in the us or mexico and it has barely begun. While these africans americans can only do it in their home town.

This is true, but when you add the Cuban contingent and guys like Josecito Lopez and Gary Russell Jr, there is some hope.
Over the past few years with most of my favorite boxers gettin' long in the tooth, I've been keeping an eye out for some next gen fighters to root for and I wasn't seeing them.
Recently, it seems like some guys that are younger and/or w/less exposure are moving from "prospect" to legit "contender". The ones in particular I am aware of are based here in the States and inhabit the lower weight classes.
Some of those are gonna' make it. Who and when? Well that's what we do around here, right? But like the OP, I'm diggin' it. :boxing:
yea the only true emerging stars around are broner, canelo, mares, garcia and garry russell jr. guys that should be getting attention but dont for various reasons kzauto ioka is probably the best young talent in the sport by far, but he gets no attention because he fights at the lowest weight classes. benavidez jr is still fighting 6 rounders. there are others as well. but boxing, esp american boxing, looks to be doing well for the future. but all of these prospects have high failure rates so we will see.
