He doesn't cheat and he's never been given a decision he didn't earn.
All of the other big name fighters in the last several years can't say the same, among them that so many of them have turned out to be cheaters in the last year or so. They've either lost fights outright or they've done things that have made their reputation as a boxer take a huge hit.
Pacquiao will always have that shadow over him since he refused a blood test, especially when so many others were caught doping in the wake of it.
Bradley is "undefeated" but was just handed a fight in which he won no more than 2 rounds on a generous card.
Wladimir and Vitali are consistent, but their competition will always keep them from being heralded as greats.
Now this Broner guy who was supposed to be the future of boxing doesn't even TRY to make weight before he's ever been in a big fight. That's disgusting.
This isn't meant to make anybody be a Mayweather fan. I just thought it was worth pointing out. He may be a jackass outside the ring, but he does not play around when it comes to the sport. I don't care if you hate him, but you have to respect him because he does respect boxing where so many other fighters don't.
The hell do you think you are being exempt from being insulted, you fool?
Why should I respect you?
Earn my respect. Posts objectively and rationally, even if it means you have to go against fighters you like.
LOL. I've been on this site for YEARS and have had MANY discussions with others about boxing and I've posted objectively and rationally.
Who do you think you are, repeating questions as if you've somehow caught me out, and then being affronted when I get agitated with having to deal with you?
Who are you?
I was repeating the question in hopes of it getting answered by YOU or someone that may have had the same thought pattern as you. Which is why I repeated it. Paranoid much? LOL at "having to deal with me". And if you had me on ignore, then you shouldn't have responded at all. I'll be sure to add you to my ignore list and NOT respond to you. Which is hilarious because I don't recall every having discussions with you previously.
I laugh harder every time I hear someone say Castillo was ROBBED against Mayweather. Look, it was indeed a close fight, but Mayweather easily won 4 of the first 6 rounds. Are you going to try to claim he didn't win 2 of the last 6? Please. I can see people saying it was a draw, but even saying Castillo won is a stretch. Saying he was robbed is just retarded.
The Marquez weight thing puzzles me a little too. I've heard Mayweather and Golden Boy say something about the weight not being what Marquez thought it was. At the same time, I don't really see how anyone thought Marquez ever had a chance in the first place. Everything he does, Floyd does better.
The Ortiz punch was legit. Ortiz fought dirty first anyway. But Floyd was well within his rights to clock him. If a pitcher beans you one time out, then throws you easy fastballs from there on out, are you telling me you aren't going to hit a home run?
Yes, Floyd is a jackass outside the ring. So was Muhammad Ali. So is Kobe Bryant. The best usually are. But are we fans of their lives (AKA reality TV fans) or are we sports fans? I don't give a damn that Ali was a draft dodger. And, if I did, a BOXING forum isn't the place to discuss it. Ali never shamed boxing, and Floyd hasn't either.
But a lot of your favorites sure as **** have.
do u think he deserved the castillo decision? Didnt he kinda cheat the scales vs JMM? Didnt the ref help him a bit in the hatton fight, and he used elbows a bit didnt he? Didnt he sucka punch Ortiz, that was a bit under the belt by queensbury!
Ive probably missed a few other things as well.
lol hugh grant nailed it with the first reply
Say what you want about Ortiz but him exposing Berto was so orgasmically great.
Hey, D, did you see Berto's Tweet after the Pac robbery? I think you'll like this.
Andre Berto @AndreBerto
Everybody don't give up on the sport yet.. #TeamBerto commin soon

yeah that was hilarious. berto/haymon thought ortiz was finished and they'd get a win over a guy with a ton of hype. backfire!
don't give up on the sport yet? haha isn't this the guy who was caught cheating? i like how he says team berto because he knows he can't do anything on his own, he needs his team of promoters/roiders to help him win.
Agreed. Floyd doesn't get the credit that he deserves for being a true champion. He had a close fight with Castillo, and rematched him straight away and won handily to set the record straight. Very few fighters do that. Many of them are just content to just get a gift decision and avoid the rematch at all costs and/or wait a few years for the other guy to slide and only then look to set the record straight (like Manny Pacquiao did with Juan Manuel Marquez). They avoided him like the plague until they thought he was washed up, then all of a sudden they jumped and took the fight.
Floyd also always fights people when they are on a winning streak (except for Zab Judah, which was a fight made by Bob Arum) and never looks to drain his opponents or make them fight at an uncomfortable weight. He goes up to their weight, even though he doesn't belong at 154 and could've easily fought Cotto at 150 or even 147 if he wanted to because he held all the cards as far as being the draw. Instead he chose to fight the guy at his best, so that the fans could see the best Miguel Cotto. In my opinion what makes Floyd so great is that he's faced over 20 world class opponents and only had two truly close fights (against Castillo, which was 10 years ago now). I've never seen someone so far ahead of the competition in his era. Mark my words. When he retires and the sport of boxing isn't half as entertaining, you people are going to be begging for him to come back and wishing that you appreciated him more.
how is floyd so far ahead of the competition of his era if he doesn't fight them? puzzling. yeah he's far ahead of the b level guys he fights but why is that impressive? sugar ray leonard sparked davey boy green out cold. if he only fought davey boy green's for his entire career would you think he's so far ahead of hearns, benitez, duran etc...without ever fighting them? makes no sense.

There's a reason I put you on ignore, f-cktard. So that I don't have to read your heavily biased posts. Which would indicate I don't want to engage in conversations with you, being as you are incapable of objective analysis on most topics.
But you know what? I'll indulge you this one time, for old times sake.
Andre Berto ran away screaming from Kermit f-cking Cintron. However, I get the feeling that you're somehow going to dispute this fact, as is your way.
Broner hasn't actively ducked anyone but is on the same path of least resistance that Berto was on (who can ever forget Berto's legendary BAD run of 140 pounders? ) - and will remain that way. And Mayweather's corrosive influence is all over that boy (and I don't blame Floyd for that - Broner is in love with all the sh-tty aspects of Mayweather's career as he is with the positive ones).
At least Floyd paid his dues before becoming a diva.
Didn't even bother reading your post, after your first line. Nor do I remember ever talking or discussing anything with you previously. The hell you think you are calling me names?

A STAR IS BORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he turned down career high paydays for the highest payday in the sport??? does that even make sense???? do u hear yourself? lol. look i love debating u because u know your stuff usually, but that doesnt make sense. no matter how much eh would have made fighting margarito and cotto, it would be nothing compoared to what an oscar fight would do to his career. and in the end, it was the right choice monetary wise. u cant use money for your argument, it doesnt make sense.
he turned down career high paydays. that is a fact. yes he made more much later but at the time he turned it down they were the most he had ever seen. remember he fought bum baldomir first and there was no way he knew someone would offer 8 mill for that bum when he turned down the top rank offer. the baldomir offer came 3 months after the top rank offer. you don't have a time machine.
he could have fought oscar when he was with top rank but he wanted 20 mill guarantee and arum is like ummmm that's impossible. it was so impossible because floyd only got a 10 mill guarantee when he actually did fight hoya. why didn't floyd demand 20 mill after he left top rank..... floyd just wanted to leave top rank so he made insane demands. i say he ducked cotto because he never attempted to ever fight him when he was with top rank or after leaving top rank and he kept making up lame excuses like he lives too far away and then retired right at the height of cotto's popularity. way too much evidence saying he didn't want the fight.
i thought you were the steroid master what happened? USADA allows you to have a 4 to 1 testosterone level before triggering secondary testosterone tests. VADA does it automatically. hence why peterson was caught and why he wouldn't be under USADA. floyd doesn't want the stricter tests? what's the deal? i thought he would want to protect himself oh well...
:lol1: You must have me mixed up with someone else.
I don't recall ever even discussing steroids in any depth on this site. I don't come on here to talk about drugs.
I wasn't aware that USADA allows 4:1 as oppsed to VADA that doesn't. Is there a source for this? Again, this is not something I am disputing.
i've never made up anything. you just refuse to believe the truth. you won't even listen to facts. i show you how floyd turned down career high paydays and you just pretend it's not there.

dont bother asking him to. he makes stuff up to suit his own agenda all the time. its a shame, because he def knows better but he does it anyways.

Elaborate.

Stupid, stupid post.
I mean, I get the fact that Broner's conduct and Mayweather-lite posturing make you appreciate the real thing.
But let's keep it real.
The sucker-punch on Ortiz was a f-cking disgrace, one of the worst endings to a fight I can remember. You have to cheap shot a guy who is so obviously not on your level?
He refuses to make the one fight that would revive this sport (and before people starting going on about Arum - it was Floyd who upped the amount he wanted for the fight when Pac agreed to the drug-testing).
Mayweather is one of the most talented fighters I have ever seen, and I try to temper my annoyance for his retarded behaviour by telling myself I should appreciate this unique, once in a life time fighter while he's still great.
But casting Floyd as some virtuous figure in the sport?
Let me tell you something.
Broner, Dirrell, Gamboa, Haye, Berto - these guys are the legacy of Mayweather. They all idolised Floyd and duck and dive their way out of competitive fights and want to make easy money. People don't want to admit it but Floyd has left a corrosive influence on the sport.
Who have these guys ducked?
Elaborate.

floyd should have lost to castillo
floyd cheated marquez on the scales
floyd constantly changes his demands to prevent fights against good fighters
floyd refuses VADA testing and will only do USADA which wouldn't have caught peterson because of the way they test testosterone.
floyd is the orginal fraud. everyone that comes after him is just copying his fraudulent career and making big bucks. he paved the way, but he paved it with a prima donna attitude and garbage overhyped fights.

And right on cue; one of Floyd's biggest haters steps up and takes a swing.
