First off, before I say anything, I think Danny Garcia is a good fighter. He's done well up to this point today and probably do well in the near future at 140. With that out of the way I'll also say critiquing a boxer is often seen as a negative and jokers on this site troll posts with such frequency, honest observations are almost always taken out of context. With that being said, Danny Garcia is a simple formula to solve in the ring. I'll throw in that now that Garcia is managed by al haymon, he's going to be matched very carefully. They know Garcia is a medium range hooker and walks in straight lines and his only punch is the hook and counter hook. He eats jabs like skittles so dont expect to see this kid in with anybody that can "box" like a malinaggi, khan again or a mayweather. Now to khan. I firmly believe he let's his ego get the best of him in the ring. Why trade hooks with a hooker? Why?, when you know that is the other fighters one strength? Amir Khan is a fantastic boxer but I really don't think he grasps his weaknesses and plays on his strengths. He boxed maidana beautifully until he decided he had enough of dancing/riding his bike and then he got caught huge by maidana. Khan needs to go back to the drawing board and focus in the ring and BOX and break his opponent down instead of thinking he can brawl it out. Everytime he brawls, he gets blasted, ie Prescott, maidana, Peterson and now Garcia. I know he should have beat Peterson yada yada but he was just sitting there taking shots and was in trouble a couple of times. Let me know you guys think.
Garcia is mediocre fighter (+1)
_______________
you don't need to K.O a fighter to be able to tell your opinion
he is medicore in comparison to other fighters , not forum posters
and without people who have never boxed or be in a ring , people who pay , spend time watching them , and call this a legend and that a bum > those fighters would have been working part-time jobs in car washing , most of them can do nothing in life but boxing , some of them can't read and write
Khan is not a "fantastic boxer".
He's a fast guy with range, and a nice jab. He's not especially accurate. His footwork and balance are very flawed, he doesn't have high ring IQ, sloppy defense, leaky chin.
He is just an example of a guy who gets VERY overrated because he's fast.
Like I said before, he's unlikely to be anything other than a decent champ/title-holder. His technical skills for a world-class fighter are not impresive at all.
I'm in utter amazement that someone on here used semi-colons, and did so correctly, in a thread title.
I go to college. Thank you though, I admire your attention to detail.
i'm trolling because i find Garcia mediocre?
good lord
I'm with them... Your life is mediocre.
Garcia would dust u in 3.52 seconds. Anyone doling out self satisfied judgment of something they couldn't possibly hope to do themselves comes across a bit petty.
Garcia is a fighter with a good chin a strong hook and a solid right hand. Good timing and composure in there.
Khan has the skills to be elite; he doesn't have the mentality to allow his skills to take him to the elite level. Also, if you eat jabs through 2.5 rounds and throw everything onto one punch with your head turned WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED, it's a lucky shot. Khan, for falling for such a folly, deserved what he got for not fighting to his strengths. Sergio's shot on Paul Williams was set up THREE times before he pulled the trigger on that one that put pwill to sleep. That's the difference before some of you jokers take a shot at my lucky punch comment.
Garcia was throwing that hook from round one so your comments are moot. Garcia hit Morales with that same shot. Khan didn't offer Garcia enough respect to form a tactical gameplan and he payed for it. Roach was even telling Khan to use feints and he seemed to ignore roach. Feints would have worked wonders in that fight. Lure Garcia to throw his hook make him miss, and make him pay. Khan needs to listen to his corner.
I love the title, The Garcia Myth, The Khan Hate. TS despretly tries to spin that Garcia KTFO of Khan out of luck and that Khan is still better.
More like the Myth of Khan being an elite, and the Garcia hate.:lol1:

lmfao!!!!!
I like some of Adam Booth's observations on Amir Khan from a recent article here on BS:
“(Khan has) no head movement. There’s no feinting when he attacks, he just comes in on tracks and carries on in the same manner all the time."
Dude, has any Rican on this site threatened you for that awesome sig you got there bro?!!:cool2:

Well, first off there is no Garcia "Myth" the KO was legit Khan squared up and got caught clean.
Like I said in a previous thread, Khan needs to learn to utilize his height, work behind his jab, and stop fighting at his opponents level giving his advantages away.
The term myth was used because it seemed as soon as Garcia landed that counter left to the neck/head/ear of khan in rd 3, there seemed to be a bunch of posters gassing up the "Garcia bandwagon" armed with a bunch of "told you so" remarks, thus making him sound better than he actually is.

Well, this thread made me laugh. I love the excuses :lol1:
Truth is there is no myth about Garcia, everyone knows he doesn't do anything great. The thing is he doesn't do anything really bad either. That's good boxing fundamentals for you.
Khan has great hand speed but apart from that what else has he got? He has heart I'll give him that but you know what? Most boxers have heart.
most boxers do have heart, but you can tell khans heart is something a little more special than some. not alot of guys would fight for their lives and keep catching bombs just to get a chance to get back into a fight that is inevitably gonna be a loss. khan always has my utmost respect in the heart and willingness department

if khan didn't talk so much about how great he is and how elite he is, and didn't make tons of excuses and keep whining about something, no one would hate him. he's a skillful kid with TONS of heart and will, wants to fight everyone. It's his mouth and his arrogant attitude which he cannot backup which deters people from him.
he needs to get on the right path and change his image, and he can succeed in the future, without a doubt...
