We can all say we basically agree Danny Garcia is a decent fighter. average across the board with decent pop. Not saying at all hes horrible or bad, just nothing that special about him. But to improve what he already has to at least stay on top i think he should.
The number one thing he shouldve stopped coming up, BEING WILD. He needs to practice finding his range more so when he throws its not ridiculously out of position where he can get countered hard. The fact that he has below average speed hurts him even more. Knowing your range more will help you land better shots and avoid being so wild. They show him as 5'9 but he looks shorter.
Little more head movement. I dont doubt he has a decent chin, but he looks like a straight up fighter. A least little fienting when coming in or attacking. hes just basic attacking.
Develop his right hand more.
and thats pretty much, it wont make him p4p but these changes will help in the long run.. your thoughts ??
he didnt look completely out his depth. if you watch it again carefully he was actually catching some of khans punches and moving away . though with khans gifted talent he did get tag alot too, but it wasnt such a wipe out. even before the 1st KD, garcia looked relax and was still coming to khan instead of slowing down or backing away. so props to garcia, stuck to it when others like judah didnt want to
When I meant out of his depth I was to refering to when he was going forward and attacking,he looked really clumsy then. When he was recieving attacks he was pretty good catching shots and thinking. His strength is punching with his opponent he is looking to land heavy while they are attacking. He is really good at that.
Garcia fights like an Angler Fish he is slow and imobile and puts the bait out there for his opponent to go at and when the time is right throws that big left hook and snaps the trap down. He is really good at it and it is his MO but he is a bit of a one trick Pony.
When he was chasing Khan and making attacks he was way out of his depth and looked silly so he needs to work on his footwork and with his power has great potential to be a pressure fighter. His body attack was very impressive though.
He could work on straightening his punches out. Right now he just throws loopy shots but he is better than he looks. He is what I call "sneaky good" he does not look anything at all but he is measuring his opponents attacks and working out how he is going to counter a set pattern later in the fight when he has the opportunity.

head movement. and i think the next step for him is to be a better counter puncher. hes a good one, wit very good timing, with that said, he needs to take it to the next step where he learns to set up shots and trap his opponents. stick out a jab at the rite time, lure his opponents to him, he cant always take shots in order to get his counters off, theres no need for that really. set up traps and with his counter punching, he'll be a handfull for most fighters.
He's fundamentally sound. Maybe he could improve his jab, and movement, or become more aggressive, but he doesn't have many weaknesses at all. He's decent in every arena.
Khan on the other hand has great physical gifts but with that he has lots of weaknesses that could be improved upon.
Khan has far more potential as a fighter, but it's up to him to fill those holes in his game. Garcia on the other hand is almost as good as he's ever going to be, which is still pretty good. But to be honest, he's lucky Khan doesn't have a chin or good defence.
Head movement is the only thing he can improve, he doesn't need to foot work because he likes to plant both feet & throw that wild left hook, had he shorten those punches, it won't carry the same effect.
That is also my opinion. Danny is 24 so he can still improve but he won't become faster or a harder puncher so he has to work with what he has. He is good but not great at anything he does but with a better defense and head movement it can go a long way.
He needs to be a pressure fighter in my opinion, he can still counter punch but needs to be more agressive and a higher output. He has a good solid core, and I have been really impressed with his chin and toughness.
Against Khan he got hit with nearly 60 punches in the first 2 rounds, he was cut and swelling up, and in many ways the way Khan fought was tailor made for him, He can't afford to let that happen, he spent too much time on the outside against both Morales and Khan. There are fighters who he won't be able to catch like that, overall I think he'l win some, lose some at this kind of level.
I want to see him fight Matthysse.
thats a war for sure..one matthyse would win though.. hes too much imo for garcia..and he has decent boxing skill too..

I would really like to see him polish up his straight right and his jab.
A better jab would help anyone and it would help with his ability to set up the counter left hook.
A good straight right is key to keeping that left hook open, without a better straight right a better boxer will be able to neutralize that hook.
He needs to shorten up his punches, they often miss or land with the palm of the gloves. If he bends his elbows a little bit more he'd be more accurate and effective. Also if he develops a jab he'd have an easier time finding his range and setting up his left hooks.
Watching him against Kendall Holt, he does have boxing skills and he can box, but he can also Brawl and he can also COUNTER PUNCH
Garcia is is doing just fine, he doesn't have to change anything, Garcia uses the style that is best for his opponent for each fight and so far...IT HAS WORKED FOR HIM
Can he be out-boxed? Yes! Ashley Theophane did it but it was still a close fight and Danny was boxing back and forth with him so it is not like Danny Can't box himself...
He is a fighter people will continue to doubt over and over and over again and he will continue to win because he is just better then what people want to give him credit for
I'll have to watch that theophane fight, but yeah he's a good little fighter...hope floyd fights him next though, I'd fully support that fight, the 24/7's will be dope and the fight would be a shutout but entertaining. I'm just saying, floyd's first fight out of jail...why not?

I think him looping a lot of punches is helping him because of his lack of speed. It's less orthodox and harder to predict. You could also see him mixing it more with straight punches against Holt when he wasn't as badly outspeed.
Generally he is what he is, smart, tricky fighter with good strength and punching power, but not spectacular at any particular part of a game. I don't think he has talent to really improve. I think he may start a little faster, some littlle things in his defence can improve of course, but that would be it. He will never be truly great.
His punches are too wide and looping, but that's just my thoughts.
Yeah, but the way he does is something an amateur would do in the beginning.. Bradley was wide and loopy with his shots, but he'd at least look at you and direct himself towards you compared to Danny whos seems like a drunk fighter, swing and doesnt look and keeps going to find his target. lol
