Khan and Ortiz should go work with Emanuel Steward.
Who else agrees?
Both these guys have to stop being so offensively minded and go back to fundamentals like keeping your hands up at all time.
I think Steward be a good balance for both these 2 young fighters.
Steweard also works everything behind a jab and Amir already has a great jab, imagine what his jab will become with Steward.
Ortiz 's jab needs work but it can improve with Steward.
I think Khan would be much better with Steward. Khan needs to pick his guys apart more, THEN blast them out. He would actually turn it on when Manny wants him to unlike Dawson. I don't think Steward would take Ortiz. He called Ortiz a thug before the PBF fight and after the last fight Ortiz was in I'm inclined to belive him. Ortiz reminds me of how Tyson and Zab were at times. When it gets real tough he fouls or looks for a way out.
OK his size may have been an advantage but good boxers regardless of size/weight advantage knows how to deal with certain styles
Lee had success early and then Chavez Jr. relentless pressure made him fold...but also Lee has sh1t footwork and can't fight back up or moving laterally
bottom line is this, Steward is good with TALL and LONG Boxers, that is what what he is good at, teaching guys how to use their length and reach advantage so maybe he could work with Khan, but Ortiz...BLAH!
Khan is a tall and Long boxer. That's why he has to stick and move on the outside and I think Steward will be perfect for that.
Khan tried to Brawl with Danny and that;'s why he lost. Everytime he brawls, he loses.
Apparently you didn't. Lee did great considering his physical abilities. Lee lost to JR. because of Jr.'s overwelming power, size, and explosiveness. Lee simply couldn't keep Jr. off him, but when he was he was boxing and timing Julio beautifully. Did Jr. even test after the fight. Dude was 20 plus over the limit.

WTF? Did you not see the Andy Lee Fight? HELL NO!
Also did not do anything special with Dawson or Cotto when he was training them, Khan should get Adam Booth (Khan should be using a Stick and Move style similar to David Haye and George Groves, he should be a much slicker fighter then he currently is) as for Ortiz I think Roach would be good for him because he is a Brawler

Me likes the idea:biggthump With both fighters size and strength advantage, Manny would make them impenetrable like the Klitschko, although at the cost of them losing their fan friendly fighting style.
Yeah only thing with Ortiz and Roach is that Ortiz needs 1 on 1 attention and Roach can't give that to him. Roach has too many fighters. His Filipino assistant was holding pads for AMIR before the Garcia fight, that's wrong in my eyes.
I think Ortiz should go with Nazim or Pedro Diaz.
Amir and Steward would be perfect for each other .
Khan and Steward is a great idea. I can't think of a better trainer for Amir than Manny Steward, and i can't think of a better talent than Amir for Steward to work with. :fing02:
I don't know about Ortiz. Call me crazy but i think Roach would be a better fit for Ortiz, considering how offensive-minded he is. Or maybe someone like Pedro Diaz? I think it depends on what type of fighter Ortiz wants to be. he can't keep doing what he does now where he switches between bulldozer and tentative boxer, even in a single round sometimes
