A lot of people are mentioning Vitali's offer to Haye. What they seem to have forgot is Haye agreed to everything and the Klitschko team decided to change the subject when confronted at that infamous press conference.
1:20 onwards
I think about the future outcomes as well. When Lennox fought Vitali he didn't really know Vitali would become what he did, but today it's arguably Lennox's best win in career.
Tyson was totally past prime, Holyfield as well (was beaten badly by Bowe a couple year prior to their fight).
Again I am not against. But I can't stand people claiming nonsesnse as Vitali is scared or ducking... It's just ludicrous.
(imagine) If Vitali approaches me and asks what to do, I would tell him to do it if he feels he can, if not I would suggest him to take a nice farewell fight in Kiev and call it a day.
Haye is by no means in position to request anything... If he is hungry, he can go for wlad.. or he knows he would never beat any brother till they are way past it...
Holyfield is Lewis' best win. Less than a year and a half before he whomped Tyson and avenged against Moorer in all time great fashion. Vits may arguably be his second greatest win. The thing is though the Vits win is only great now because of what Vittles went on to accomplish. At the time though he was still far more accomplished and seasoned than Fury. If his career flopped the win would never be held in high regard. That's why you can't just assume Fury would be the better fight for Vittles instead of Haye. While David is no all time great he has proven himself far more than Fury. The point is Vits is still a top contender. Haye is a top contender. The fight will bring more money and more attention than any other heavyweight fight. To say you have no interest is the equivalent of a duck under these circumstances. Want to retire? Cool! But if you keep fighting and take on another soft touch its just another strike against an already weak resume.
A fight against Fury would be better for VK's legacy.
I'll go back to Lewis vs. Klitschko in 2002. No doubt that fight enhanced Klitschko's legacy, even though he lost. But the win was even more significant for Lewis because VK hasn't lost since that fight.
Had Klitschko lost right after that fight the win would be meaningless. But because he's gone on to basically wipe out everyone in the HW division post Lennox Lewis, and has been a long reigning WBC champ, every win he gets enhances Lewis' legacy even more cause he was the last guy to beat him.
The same I believe will happen with Fury. VK should beat him and then if Fury goes on to have a good career, which I believe he will because the future of that division is going to consist of Deontay Windmill and Chris Arreola, it will help to enhance VK's legacy.
You don't know how Rudy's career is going to play out PR if Haye will retire. Bottom line is Haye is right now more highly regarded and accomplished and brings more to the table financially. I just don't get why some of you don't want this fight. I have a feeling many just don't want to contemplate Vits being in a tough fight or losing. I myself didn't want it till Haye wrecked Chisora. Now its intriguing as well as the other factors I've pointed out.

Well, if Vitali beats Tyson there is still a good chance for Tyson to become HW champion, maybe even a dominate one. That is always more impressive than beating semi-retired fighter who didn't really do that much in HW (apart from Valuev, not much).
Taking that Haye would retire after Vitali beats him, there are many better options for Vitali.
No, Vitali is not money driven. I mean, everyone is, but not in the sense as some other fighters.

Id say by his stingy negotiations that he is concerned about money. And no, I don't see how fighting an unproven up and comer would trump fighting an established top fighter. If Vits wins he goes out against a top fighter. Is that not more impressive than beating another gimme like Charr.

I hardly believe Vitali is concern about money. Man is in Ukraine politics, spending own money for the things he believes in.
For the second argument, wouldn't it be better to fight Tyson Fury instead. It's much more likely that Fury would continue to fight even if he loses to Vitali.
If Haye loses to Vitali we'll never hear about him anymore. He'll be remembered as a fighter who created a lot of noise and never really beat any good still in prime HW fighter (Chisora is hardly good in general terms).
I just fail to see what is in there for Vitali.

That's the problem. If Vitali beats Haye, Haye will become 'not worthy'. In other words beating Haye doesn't do much for Vitali.
It would still be one of Vitali's best wins.
I respectfully disagree 100%. If Haye lost to Vitaly it means he is undeserving of a Wlad rematch and would have to rebuild. But it does much for Vits as he would be rewarded handsomely monetarily and he beats a consensus top heavyweight to end his career in instead of another charade.

Why is Vit in a dress? I have always wondered, are you a fan or a hater of his?
Someone thought it would be funny to put him in my avitar through a vb plaza tool. I thought it would be funny to dress him up as retribution for that act. And no I'm not a hater. I am admittedly very critical of him though with the nuthuggers who try and overrate him and think that he walks on water. I think I rate him 25th all time at heavy Jacques his resume is poor compared to most greats, but have him 8th all time h2h. I think that's fair...other will tell you I just don't like him. Oh well, can't please everyone.
Come on bro, this simply isn't true. Haye brings the most money and he's considered a top contender. As long as Vits decides to fight this is a match up the boxing world wants to see regardless of who anyone roots for.
Its true Vits has slowed but I still thinks he wins...it would just be ugly and closer than it would have been three years ago. Certainly more interesting than Charr, Chisora or any other of Vitaly's match up the last 4 or 5 years. If he's lost the drive he should just retire. If he fights again though he should take a challenge fans actually want to see. Jmo.

If Haye is more sensible and he would continue to fight, maybe even become a champion once again, when Wlad retires, it would make more sense and it would be more attractive for Vitali. This way is just moderate - to high risk, low award fight.
I give Lennox my utter respect. He did the right thing to retire. He is a smart man.

He's already been beaten by prime Wlad. Vits is still seen as one of the very best in the division so this fight makes perfect sense. If Haye wins he gets his rematch. If not it just shows he isn't worthy.
If Vits retires I have no problem with it. I just think some Klit fans would give Lewis the same leeway for retiring as he himself went out on a great win and decided he was no longer driven to fight. Fair is fair.

As I said if Vitali wants to do it, great.. If not, fair enough.
I am up to it (big fights). Just instead of old Vitali lets go with prime Wlad...

Because Wlad and Vitali aren't the same person. Vitali won't be as tentative and look for the KO more.
He's not going to be afraid of Haye's power.
Haye's inactive but less than a year ago he knocked out Chisora which Vitali couldn't do and Vitali himself said he would fight the winner.
So I wouldn't say he's irrelevant.
Plus, the bad blood is there already regardless and it's a huge fight.
I agree Vitali is more aggressive fighter or at least he used to be. I said this long time ago - I am fine whatever Vitali decides. If he feels he can still do it great, if not I don't have anything against 'easier' farewell fight and retirement.
It wouldn't be as huge as Haye-Wlad was or as Haye-Wlad 2 would be if Haye stops with BS and starts fighting and knocking down other contenders.
Haye only need to fight lets say Fury and Povetkin and there we go with a great rematch fight again. Both still pretty much in primes, titles are there... Vitali is pretty much out of game. I can't see him chasing Haye across the ring at 41. Once haye realized he can't hurt or outbox Vitali will go into survive mode with rare haymakers...
Vitali was willing to fight Haye for a long time. Only recently he might lost the drive to do it. Totally understandable. Haye doesn't bring anything to the table..
Any version of Vitali up to Adamek fight knocks out any version of haye..

I think Vitali would still win but in very boring fight with UD. He wouldn't win more impressively than Wald so I fail to see the point of this fight.

It seems like you don't want the fight because you're afraid Vitali will lose.
Vitali now would knock out Haye IMO or atleat win on points.
