Tito Trinidad
Mosely
Hopkins
Mayweather
Pacquiao
I mean damn look at those names, all ATG's.
If your gonna lose, you might aswell lose to some of the best Boxers to ever lace a pair of gloves up.
This is not a thread to hate on De La Hoya. Huge credit has to go to Oscar, he took on all challenges, that's for sure.
Im pretty sure there will be other fighters with big name losses on their career, but anyone with even more ATG's losses than Oscar? I might be forgetting some obvious ones, i haven't really given any thought to it, just off the top of my head.
Roy Jones' resumé is a f-cking JOKE compared to De la Hoya's. Im not even an Oscar fan but his legacy is one level above RJJ's. Oscar fought EVERYBODY while Roy fought tomato cans and half professionals all his career.
And Tito is up there with de la hoya so Tito is way higher rated than Roy Jones
:lol1: :lol1:

Don't amuse me.

Archie Moore:
Rocky Marciano
Muhammad Ali
Floyd Patterson
Holman Williams
Ezzard Charles
Eddie Booker
Charley Burley
Harold Johnson
Only one who you could question wasn't an ATG is Floyd Patterson but given your criteria of accomplishing much more then McGuigan or say Jess Willard who is probably the worst person in the HOF = ATG, Patterson fits it.
Well there goes that obvious one i knew i'd forgotten. Can't believe it took 5 pages for him to get a mention aswell, although it has been 5 pages of mostly off topic posts.
Great shout however the man had over 200 fights :D Still think De La Hoya wins this game haha.
Juan Laporte;
Julio Cesar Chavez
Salvador Sanchez
Eusebio Pedroza
Azumah Nelson
Wilfredo Gomez
Kosta Tszyu
Barry McGuigan
Obviously not all ATG's but a strong list of fighters.
Oakland Billy Smith;
Archie Moore
Ezzard Charles
Charley Burley
Bert Lytell
He actually beat great fighters aswell.
Duran, Frazier and who else? You make it sound as if theres hundreds out there who lost to better fighters.
Frazier yes but he lost to two, two of the best Heavyweights of all time yes but still only two.
I asked if there was any others with even more ATG losses on their resume.
The only two credible shouts have been Frazier and Duran who both have less ATG's losses on their resume however those ATG's are the likes of Ali and SRL to name two so they are credible shouts.

no he doesn't
as others have mentioned, better fighters lost to better fighters
it does kinda speak well for him that he only lost to top compettion
that's a minus, but only one of his losses was embarrassing

there's a difference between hof & atg.
atg>hall of famer.
& no, mosley is no atg. he's barely a hall of famer in my eyes & the fact that he admitted that he roided should disqualify him from the HALL OF FAME.
Your telling me?
Read my post again. Im saying if a Barry McGuigan can make the HOF then the HOF loses credibility in my eyes, which is why much more accomplished fighters like Tito and Mosely deserve the ATG tag in my opinion.
Also the second part is just your opinion.

Roy Jones resume isn't special. Yes Oscars resume is better than Jones. Jones got hyped up to **** cause he was an AA who moved really pretty vs your average trashman/cop.
To idiots? A person losing should matter in a boxing legacy unless it's favoritism which is what you're displaying.
Goddamn you've ruined this thread with your bs.
Come on man??
Tito and Mosley are not ATG's??
Sorry but if people like Barry McGuigan can make the HOF then i'd rather the more special fighters like Tito and Mosely get that ATG tag. Just my way though.
I can certainly understand if people would be rather more hesitant to give out that ATG tag, however IMO both Tito and Mosley certainly should be classed at ATG's.

What's so funny? Oscar never got Knocked out by guys Tarver, Green, Johnson.
What Jones is doing now should affect his legacy.
Dont be daft.
No matter what Roy does now his legacy as one of the best ever is already sealed.
Man this thread is mostly off topic.
Duran lost to Leonard, Halger, Hearns and Benitez. So no Oscar does not have the best names on his L collection.
Thats a great shout.
I suppose asking for someone who only lost to ATG's was a bit too much unless someone has mentioned a boxer who did later on in this thread.
Trinidad and Mosley are not ATG's, they are HOF'ers though.
Bernard Hopkins losses:
Roy Jones Jr
Jermain Taylor 2x
Joe Calzaghe
Chad Dawson

Did you know all Carlos Monzon fans are murderers?
They support a fighter who's a murderer so they must also be murderders themselves.
The whole idea is childish. If that was the case there wouldnt really be any boxer who deserves support because most of me seem to be or have been horrible human beings at times.
