You guys have it all wrong you know how weak Victor is mentally and you expect him to thrive with a trainer like Butch Wolfe or someone that gets in his face?? Ortiz Needs someone like Nacho who can be very nurturing and teach you the fundamentals of boxing. He needs someone that can teach him how to will himself and if he learns that he will have heart. but Vic is a very fragile piece and its going to be very hard to do Vic wants a trainer only to himself -moronic move someone he can bully and someone that is very passive. That isnt going to happen Its like I told Temo a few years back "your brother will never be elite because he isnt with the right trainer. He will win a title or two based on his skill alone but its the proper trainer that is in charge of polishing the fighter look what roach did with pac and with Jr

idk who could be his trainer, but i watched danny garcia very disappointed during the post fight interview n nobody seem to follow him immediately to the locker room, but i doubt hes leaving his corner team

Ortiz Trainer Hello - everyone - I always Read everything Posted here - At first I thought maybe Ortiz would should ask for Roaches help - however it's Ortiz mental state that needs to be reinforced and he needs someone that will push him to the point of no return - I think Ann Wolfe could help him however I don't think she is the best one to help him with his technique - maybe Cottos Trainer can because he helped Cotto fight a war with Mayweather and in my opinion was very impressive - if he does change his corner it might be for the better

I am not sure if his mindset has changed but Ortiz will probably want someone who trains very few, if any, fighters and IMO won't travel too far to train Joe Goossen comes to mind as he only has John Molina Jr right now

Think if Ortiz learned to keep his head and fight smart like B-Hop. How dangerous would he be? I've been saying this whenever a thread gives me an opportunity to for years. Bernard Hopkins should get himself a whole stable of guys and give fellas like Nacho and Freddie a run for their money. At some point in the next few years he's gonna' have to hang em' up and it would be a whole new way for him to get involved and be a dominant (if not the dominant) player in boxing. On the one-a-gazillion chance that you see this Mr Hopkins, we the fans hold trainers in far higher regard than we do promoters. If the well-earned respect of the fans is part of what you love about this game, be a trainer in your post getting-in-the-ring life. Not a promoter. :fing02: good post!!!

he lives in cali right? the wild card seems like a good fit, he can train with Eric Brown (Paulie's trainer), that might be a good fit...or of course he could train with Roach, but I think Steward would be the ideal candidate for a guy like Ortiz who needs to rely on boxing and jabbing when the going gets tough.

He needs a no nonsense trainer aka: Anne Wolf Emanuel Steward or someone like a Pedro Diaz or Nacho Beristain However I think if Ortiz wants a real shake up he should consider training with Bernard Hopkins(I know he is not a trainer but I think joining him in a training camp along with nazeem richardson would do wonders) because if there is one guy who can rattle Ortiz in every single way it would be Hopkins who will not coddle nor baby Ortiz you can believe that and in the long run it may even help him. Who knows, but until Ortiz makes an official announcement I guess it's a matter of wait and see.

He NEEDS a new corner. He hasn't gotten any better. He's young and should still be progressing and it seems he hit a bump...2 years ago! I said right after the Lopez fight. Dude needs a new corner ASAP! I suggest...Robert Garcia? LMAO! I think Freddy Roach would do wonders for this kid. If not Roach then Ronnie Shields. Anne Wolfe I think this would be a great option. She seems like somebody that could connect to Ortiz and bring him the "real"-ness (hope I used the expression properly) that he seems to lack.

his style actually fits Freddie Roach though so I could see that happening plus Roach has praised him in the past
