TS is correct. Drug cheats should not be in high regards when it comes to boxing.
They cheated to gain an edge in a very violent sport, putting people's lives in danger.
It isn't clear if Roy had an "edge". As far as I know, testing for anabolic steroidswasn't as common in Boxing in most areas yet so fighters all over the sport could have been using them. In the fight in which he was caught, his opponent (Richard Hall) had a higher amount in his system than Roy had.
As for Toney, they probably helped him make weight and did little else. He was never a power puncher and got by on skill.
I was praising him? He has a powerful voice in boxing and his stance on PEDs has placed it at the forefront of the sport's consciousness, as I said, he got the ball rolling and whatever his reasons, he deserves credit for that.
Haha fair enough, apologies.
Roy's athletic abilities and skills were freakish, and no one could match James Toney's abilities to fight off the ropes. It's as if Toney was perfectly engineered to box, fighting seemed so natural to him. I shouldn't have to get into specifics really.
If someone is incredibly naive and stupid they can believe that the only guys using PEDs are the ones getting caught. Boxing has consistently been grouped with track and cycling as being the most overrun in terms of PEDs. I think the reality is that something like 80%+ of the top tier of the sport is circumventing or cheating the testing in one way or another.
Great post. This probably applies to all sports. The percentage maybe higher.
if you're are a cheat.. you're a cheat. end of discussionHow can you even look at Pacquiao's stamina over the last decade and not see a guy who is blatantly blood doping? The only reason he is slowing down now is the natural effects of aging, he is still as doped as ever.
when they are steroid abuses?
same with sugar shane..
there accomplishments mean nothing, they are a disgrace to the sport
fact
like a certain boxer that refuses testing... they all in the same boat
:lame:

This exactly.
Its been almost 5 years time to grow up, by disregarding Floyd your making Hatton look bad and in turn yourself like a bit of cunt.

OP is correct.
Boxing fans are way behind other sports in their acceptance of cheating and corruption.
They're waking up though, slowly but surely...
Shout out to Floyd Mayweather for getting the ball rolling, maybe that will be his positive legacy for the sport.

Toney has real skills that you don't get by taking steroids. But his lazyness made him go to a short cut. I'm not making an excuse for him cause he victimized himself.
Toney is one of the biggest waste of talent cause he could had done so much more in the sport if he had applied himself.
All he is know is a loud mouth fat manHell, that's all he was 10 years ago already.

No body really blames any fighter that gets caught its just a black mark for there fights but no matter what they still get credit.
Also do you have any Idea what they took? The effects weren't that serious ecspecially jones and toneys helped him cut weight.
they are still cheats...
100m sprinters will still be faster than the majority of people on this planet... so if they took drugs its ok, because there are not many people who can do what they can do?
gaining a upper hand in any shape or form, is disgraceful
It is disgraceful but what I'm saying is you can still enjoy watching them do their thing. Tyson biting Holyfield's ears off is the most disgraceful thing a fighter has ever done in a boxing ring, to me it's worse than quitting or intentional fouls, but I can still watch his fights and appreciate his talent.
