There was a time right after the Martinez brutally stopped the Punisher that the entire boxing community jumped his bones. But then he called out Floyd & Pacman. Ever since, he become hated & notoriously viewed as overrated.
So my question is: Now that an educated trainer & boxing professor like Shields says that he believes Lara can beat Floyd will all the Lara sympathizer's become hateful & vindictive of Lara because of it??

I don't even understand your point. "But then he called out Floyd & Pacman. Ever since, he become hated & notoriously viewed as overrated." Lmao. What? When has Martinez become hated? What's the correlation between Martinez calling out the top 2 p4p at the time, and Shields giving his opinion about a certain fighter. What is it you're really trying to say?
And what the hell is a Lara sympathizer? When you look into it, what your really saying is, 'Floyd's fans will turn on Lara, suddenly becoming hateful & vindictive against him, supposedly because Ronnie Shields thinks Lara has a shot?' You're also implying that Floyd's fans are also Lara sympathizers. I don't know why you would assume that? Probably because they're both dark skinned.
But regardless, the TS is a troll bringing up Floyd's name as usual. "pre-mature dick riding" I think one poster called it.

I think Lara fights and trains to his opponent and once he fights the better guys he'll shine.
What fighters beat Floyd? What fighters his own size can actually beat him? What fighters that bring money to the table or become his mandatory can beat him? I'm talking 147lbs or less. since he's never made the 154lbs weight limit. What P4P fighters can beat him that actually move up in weight and don't pray on smaller guys? You can't name any because they don't exist. It's always this big guy, this hard hitting guy, this southpaw, and at the end of the day nobody has taken that 0. 154lbs is too high for Mayweather yet he suppose to fight a middleweight lol. You have Pac fighting Catchweights and cherry picking to the fullest, Marquez fighting bums that nobodies heard of, yet lets pick on Mayweather lol!
Why do you guys want Floyd to lose so badly? He fought the best or tried to fight the best when he was younger. He always fights a guy that's a champion, brings money, or is a P4P guy since he's came back and he's 35 years old. This guy won't get credit until he gets knocked out by a heavyweight.
The Punisher was welterweight when Floyd nor Pacman wanted to fight him, that's a fact & that's why boxing fans hated him. So Floyd is supposed to only fight fighters that bring money to the table?? Which is why it's ok to bash Floyd Martinez at 154?? Well then................................................
Btw I bash Pacman too. But not Marquez because he stepped up to welterweight to fight the consensus pfp #1 & #2 But neither would step to 154 to fight the consensus #3,lol!! When Marquez was never a welterweight champion, but Floyd, Pacman & Martinez all held titles at 154, another fact btw.
who hates Martinez because he said he could beat Mayweather??
as for Lara I Know Floyd beats him I like the guy but he is little overrated around here he has problems with boxers from what I seen he would lose a decision but he will be competitive
I'm not sold on Lara. Sometimes he looks spectacular, other times he's content to squeak by.
How do you think he looked vs Hernandez?
I think Lara fights and trains to his opponent and once he fights the better guys he'll shine.
Interesting observation. A lot of people actually feel this way about Lara and I think besides the issues he had in camp this is what happened coming into the Molina fight. Molina was his first real step up after 16 fights and he (Lara) was coming off of 4 1st round KO wins. We all know Molina is no joke and not sure why they give Lara sh1t about him.
Yeah, but I would realistically say Lara has a real chance at beating Floyd more so than the Ghost does.
Everyone knows 154lbs is too high a weight for Floyd. It's amazing he can compete with these naturally bigger guys like he does. I don't care who could give him problems @ 154lbs being 5' 8" @ age 35. I think Lara has a legit shot but doesn't deserve it. Do these guys really deserve a shot at Floyd? Are they his mandatory? Have they tried to be his mandatory? Floyd came back for Pac and not the 154lb. guys. I think everyone who has a shot to beat Floyd should be looked at in their 5th weight division and think of how they'd compete there. Would they even be able to compete. Martinez @ 175lbs would get royally raped. Lara @ 200lbs would be annihilated. Hell even if you tag on 24lbs to where a fighter started professionally they won't really do well. Martinez wants to fight smaller guys instead of being a smaller guy fighting big guys. He only picks on the big guys he knows he can beat. That's the Bernard Hopkins way to fame. Lara and Martinez have a chance to beat Floyd I fully agree... but at the same time I don't think either deserve a shot. Martinez and Lara need to go for WBA or WBC mandatory spot to fight Mayweather. They need to prove they deserve the shot before they get it.
If Floyd fights again I'm pretty sure it will be at 147 because it's in his best interest to do so. There are lots of good fights he could take at 147 starting with Khan if he wins. Does Khan deserve a shot at Floyd now? No, but I think Floyd just wants the best money fights now. I believe Floyd might rematch Cotto because he knows he can win and get very well paid.
No not at all. Lara actually has skill and isn't just a hype job like Hatton and Pacquiao... Lara is a legit threat. I also think 154lbs is a class Mayweather shouldn't compete at also.
Now at the same time are you gonna jump on the Lara wagon like you did with Martinez after he sonned your man Pwill? Are you looking for anyone to beat Mayweather still?
I'm not sold on Lara. Sometimes he looks spectacular, other times he's content to squeak by.
I do not bandwagon jump though. I'm a fan of fighters who fight the dangerous fight. Martinez did that. Don't act like it's anybody that ko's the Punisher. Floyd nor Pacman didn't want to fight him at 147. I don't need to look for the fighter to beat Floyd. Because the fighters that would beat him, he won't fight them.
Forget all the "who has he fought" and "mandatory" talk.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. has NEVER officially made 154. NEVER. To say a very talented, intelligent, younger and naturally bigger man can beat Mayweather isn't some amazing statement.
Let me do it now: Lara can beat Mayweather. Alvarez can beat Mayweather. Kirkland can beat Mayweather. Martinez can beat Mayweather. Chavez Jr. can beat Mayweather. Pavlik can beat Mayweather. Ward can beat Mayweather. -insert random name- can beat Mayweather.
Why can't they? Mayweather gets hit like they get hit and many of them have more pop in single shots than Mayweather and that's all it really takes is a single shot.
Now, random opinions aside, as that's all any of this talk is, WILL any of them beat Mayweather is what we should be asking.
And, on-topic, I don't think it was all the Martinez/ Mayweather talk that has people not liking Martinez. Many people just naturally rebel against the crowd.
Mayweather gets all types of hate, himself. Add Pacquiao, Martinez, Donaire, Broner, etc., etc. It's not even a boxing thing. Ask Kobe and Lebron. Ask the Patriots. Ask the Cowboys. It's just a social trend.

So, are you gonna start hating Lara now because a student of the game said that Lara can beat him??
I doubt anybody gives a sh1t.
Never seen premature d1ck riding before. This is new.
If you don't understand anything you're reading, why bother posting??:footinmou
Yeah, but I would realistically say Lara has a real chance at beating Floyd more so than the Ghost does.I agree. I don't even know why Steward gave the Ghost such a good chance against Floyd. Until he shows me more than he has I give the Ghost almost no chance and Lara is a real threat. Maybe Lara will start calling Floyd out to get attention since Floyd is a 154 pound champ now.
The good ol "well who has Lara beat argument". We'll pretend we can't name a few Floyd opponents that didn't do a damn thing to deserve to fight him!!:boxing:
Since 2004 when Floyd became P4P1 like who?
What happen to earning your shot first? Who the hell has Lara beat to drop Floyds name like that? Remember Floyd chased Mosley and Oscar for a decade before he got his big money fight. I know Lara can fight and he had a late start but the fact is he and Floyd are at different stages of their carreer.
And Mannys an idiot for passing up his biggest payday to fight Clottey. But then again you never heard the words smart and Manny ever used in the same sentence. At least not by me.

What does selling out anything have to do with this topic?? Pacman proved when he fought Joshua Clottey that superstar fighters can fight me & sell fights.

A fighter/trainer dropping Floyds name never heard that before. You beat a couple of tomato cans thats what happens now a days. What I dont get about these foreign fighters (Martinez, Lara, etc.) is that their own countries dont even support them.
Theres a big enough Cuban community in Florida as well as other places and they have this dude fighting in Palm Springs, WTF. As for Martinez goes when the Argentina soccer team comes to the US the Argentine fans fill have the stadium to cheer them on. Yet Martinez cant sell out a high school gym in the states. If their own people arent going to support their fighter how you gonna blame Floyd for not throwing him a bone?

A few of them might. Most fans must know this fight won't happen so they won't worry about it. If there is lots of talk about Lara beating Floyd them some extreme Floyd fans might resent Lara. Right now it's just one trainer saying this. Steward said that Guerrero had a good chance to beat Floyd and everyone just forgot about it.
Yeah, but I would realistically say Lara has a real chance at beating Floyd more so than the Ghost does.
