Press were 22-0 for Donaire
cheers
ps: cheers to jakeNDAbox on the scene for this
I well say it was a competitive fight in some rounds but not enough to call it a robbery. What bothered me was how Donaire was fighting. Kid has talent and the ability to trow punches at weird angles not to mention his power is still pretty solid at this weight. His problem is that he want's to rush all his opponents and in the process he leaves himself open to get countered. Not to mention that when he gets inside he sometimes moves to much that he looses the ability to connect with solid punches. Kid needs to take a breather and use his boxing skills more including the jab. That or maybe now that his not fighting midgets he looks more ordinary and less sensational.
I had both guys winning 6 rounds and donaire winning 114-113 very close fight and Donaire looked like sh1t I was not really impressed by Mathebula either TBH
who ever thought mathebula won is a straight up idiot....and how lamely poking ur hand out over and over when ur opponent is 6ft away can be counted as punches is a joke...donaire won easily
donaire did win the fight, it was close though. not a it couldve gon either way type of close, but close as in competetive. donaire was never able to take full control of the fight and mathebula had some great rounds of his own. but there is no doubt donaire won the fight.
Donaire won and deserved to win, but that fight at least in my eyes was not out of reach going into the championship rounds. Donaire did the job and closed the fight the way a champ should, but those judges were pretty damn awful.
Of course he won but the scores showed that no matter what if it went to cards he was goingbto win. Another TR fight card thats got people shaking thier head.
