The first 6 rounds of Pac-Cotto was definitely more exciting but after that it went downhill as Cotto went on survival mode. While the Floyd-Cotto was a tad less on the scale, it was exciting till the 12th round as Floyd toughed it out w/ Cotto, something I haven't seen him do in quite a while, and I admit it got me pumped watching it.
He wasnt p4p, but he was the no 1 ranked beltholder at sww, where Margo was properly unranked even prior to Pac.
I don't feel like rehashing the thread, I went into troll mode on these well meaning Cotto fans and bystanders, lol. Feel bad, since I'm a mild Cotto fan. But it's all for a good cause, exposing double standards and selective outrage.
Can't argue with that. Just trying to see it from both sides and why one is generally frowned upon while the other isn't. Cotto doesn't exactly have the best rep when it comes to his collection of belts either so I don't know why the Pac-Cotto di ck swinging contest even matters. lol
But Shane ruined Marg's career. >_>..Not cotto or Pac.
Either way..both Marg fights were stupid imo..but at least Cotto had the history (for whatever that's worth...) Pac's fight with Marg made 0 sense.
Anyway, why is there an argument about this? Lol. When you're trying to be considered #1 p4p you don't go out and fight Marg coming from an epic knock out by Shane (oh and that poor showing after) to prove it...against someone who had just been caught cheating. Cotto kind of gets the pass for the history and the whole..Cotto not being considered p4p material anyway. Still, neither of those fights should have been made in my eyes.

I was not excited at all for the floyd Cotto fight. But then at times Cotto looked like he might actually win. Only in the middle rounds did i get excited.
Pac vs Cotto was a pick'em fight. And also because im a (was) a big Pac fan it was very exciting for the first 4/5 rounds. Until Pac took control and Cotto got on his bike.
Id vote Pac-Cotto.
You astutely pointed out that Marg was a sham contender, and the Pac's 154 title is bogus. Good job, a real eye opener for us Pac fans. Next up Marg sustains a career ending injury on top of a protracted, epic beatdown by Pac. Next up, The Ring No 1 and WBA SWW champ Cotto requests a 150 catchweight against this sorry wreck. And humiliatingly settles for 153, lol.
I'm just asking, has a champ ever asked for a cw vs a scrub fighting out of the same div before? Bonus points for a bad eye, or a similar handicap. So no broken pinkies, but rickety knees will do. It'd be cool to know, right?

Nope, he's not 'done moving up' when he's demanding a ridiculous 148 catchweight to fight Cotto when Miguel's an established JMW champ.
And you're crying about Cotto fighting an unranked Margarito as if Margarito's 154 ranking when he fought Pac was legit. LMAO. Here, have another Kleenex.

You mean until he felt the divine lack of resistance and tired legs from the burden of the divine Catch Weight !
Of course. Pac giveth and Pac taketh away the pounds on weight classes. He is the righteous hammer of god. Cotto should have never rebelled, that's why he is now known as Miguel "Fallen" Angel Cotto. Should have learned his place up on the clouds! lol

Well as of Margarito, he's done moving up. That includes Cotto, Foreman, Ryan Rhodes, or any other 154 powerhouse. Do I need to remind you that's some 10 divisions from where he started? How's Cotto's negotiations with WBO interim champ at 156?
How about my history question, no answer? Can you at least help me package it into a snazzy thread title, I'm real curious if anyone knows a precedent here on nsb.
D4thincarnation: daddy daddy, I wish I was Jinkee Pacquiao!

I'm glad I inspire you but think of your own material.
I hear Khan is fighting Garcia at 140lbs, don't get too excited now and have to change your underwear again.
Pac-Cotto.
Cotto was at least good til he put on his running shoes when he felt the divine hammer of judgement that god bestowed upon Pacquiao's left (lol).
Cotto and Floyd was "competitive" but the outcome was never in question. It was either Floyd MIGHT stop him, or will win a clear decision. Floyd toughed it out with that bloody nose. What a warrior. >__>
I'm a HUGE Cotto fan, but he just made Floyd look human..not beatable (against the opponents people want to see him in against anyway).

Do you know what exciting mean?
Huey: Mommy Mommy, Floyd it fighting Miguel at 154lbs, I'm so excited.

Mayweather-Cotto, and it ain't even close.
Facts:
vs Floyd, Cotto defended his 154 belt at 154 and had a legit trainer in his corner, was coming off stoppage wins and his level confidence was high again.
vs Pacquiao, Cotto defended his 147 belt at 145 and didn't even have a real trainer in his corner, and was coming off bad beatings.

Floyd should fought Cotto when he was young and in his prime but he rather hide in his fake retirement to duck prime young Margarito and Cotto.
LOL, no it doesn't 'prove your point' at all. Pac wasn't 'done' moving up when he refused to fight Foreman for being 'too tall' in 1st half of 2010, instead he just waited for later in the year until the WBC fraudulently ranked Margarito at 154 and looked like complete and utter garbage against journeyman Garcia.

Obviously Cotto-Floyd. A fight where Cotto was nice & fat & healthy. As opposed to the weight drained version.
Floyd faked his retirement to duck prime young Cotto.
The first 6 rounds of Pac Cotto was much more entertaining than the 12 rounds of May Cotto - - - you can take that to the bank ............
this guy speaks the truth

It proves my point, Pac is done moving up, whether for Cotto, Foreman, or whoever. Your expectations from Cotto are so much lower, the guy has barely won a belt of a champ (kneebrace Foreman being an exception lol).
Do you know of another fight with the champ requesting to defend his belt at a catchweight, against a non top 15 divisional fighter, much less one eyed one?
