Everybody is saying he's still young and there's alot of room for improvement but do you really think he'll still evolve as a fighter? Do you foresee him leaving the kind of mark Barrera, Morales, and Marquez left in the sport? Discuss
:lol1: Sure you are. I'm running for Congress as well.
Yup you are a legend in your own mind. You really do live in a fantasy world.
Go ahead look in my posts. And I know you will cause you are a loser. This site is your outlet for you inner mental problems.
If I was you I would take a pill and go to sleep.
How far he goes is up to him. If remains focused and hungry, he can become a lot better. Its really hard to say if he'll have the legacy guys like Barerra have, because we don't know what kind of competition he will have in the future.
Funny how that doesn't apply to PRs and Cotto with you.
Listen Homo, go back in my posts as far as you want and find something that I'm praising or consistently praising Cotto or any PR fighter.
I'm a boxing fan first and call it as it is. I don't even have a favorite fighter.
You are stuck on the same agenda you idiot. It makes you fell better to be criticizing cause of your low self esteem.
You are nothing but a bottom feeder
Don't expect anything more from Maniac.
When it comes to his fellow Mexican, he only knows trolling.
Good luck talking sensibly with that guy.
Yup, him and a few others let their national pride get into their reasoning
Just depends on the matchmaking and his rate of improvement, the Gomez fight showed some clear weaknesses in his game(not much of a jab, sketchy defense, trouble with movement/angles) but Gomez was just too small to hurt Canelo and a super-fast "money fighter" stoppage didn't help matters. As things stand though, there are really only three fighters that I think beat Canelo at 154 lbs, Mayweather, Cotto, and Lara. Golden Boy unsurprisingly doesn't want to put him in there with Lara at all.
Idk everyone he's beat has been shot or to small I wanna seem him fight someone who would pressure him
Someone who's a better boxer then him
Someone who hits harder if he can get past those kinda people then I'll believe the hype.
Who was that guy he was fighting that was from the contender he wasn't exactly winning that convincingly
alfonso gomez

I think he really did try to step it up... Picking Williams was a big step up, for Canelo.. Williams was on his downslide, but still an akward hard opponent.
Kirkland although he seems to have a glass chin he showed alot on tenacity against Angulo which at the time we all thought would KO Kirk it would have been a dangerous fight ..
Ortiz what can I say about the guy i still respect him and i think if he fought Berto as he trained for.. We would be talking Canelo/Ortiz..
Floyd moved up in weight and fought Gatti after Gatti was reborn with McGirt at the time. Gatti had a puncher's chance leading into the fight, but I agree, no one really gave him a shot.
But Gatti isn't why Floyd became P4P #1.
Are you really comparing Floyd's record leading up to Gatti against Canelo's current record?
Let Canelo at least fight someone in his division or in a weight class bigger before making the Floyd being P4P #1 comparison.
yes because i hate floyd. no but really floyd was at number 8 after the 2nd castillo fight. He vaulted to number 1 based on beating victoriano sosa, phillip ndou, demarcus corley and arturo gatti. not impressive at all. They just made him number 1 because he kept winning, not because he was beating good competition. same thing will happen with Canelo.
I think it's very possible he could be up there with Marquez someday. I see lots of ability, determination and heart. He is smart and tough and very dedicated. He has fast hands and power. He is a good combination puncher. He is calm under fire and has a killer instinct. Time will tell.
I thought being the champ in your division meant that you are the best. And don't forget it is the WBC belt which is one of the most oldest ones out there
Having a gifted title means something now?
Probably because he's not fighting anyone worth a damn lol
The only reason he's improving is because his competition is getting crappier instead of better lol
Why would a guy with 42 fights be ducking someone with like 18 fights?
Why would you call this guy a "kid" and use his age as an excuse when he's calling out the top fighters in Pac and Mayweather?
So what you're saying is, he SHOULD be fighting 35 year old feather fisted Japanese journeymen coming off a lose and getting knocked out in 1 round.
Gotcha
He's only 21 and improving with every fight, he's proved to be versatile and he's not getting knocked out by feather fisted Japanese journeymen

Based off what and who?

The problem with what you think is that GBP don't agree with you, by the names they have been mentioning they are pretty sure Lara will whoop Canelo's a$$, and once you hold a belt you became a target, 21, 20, 19 or 17 like Benitez you have to defend that belt against the best fighters in your own division, age is not an excuse they are plenty of fighters that won a belt at an early age and not only fought the best but unified their divisions, if you can't hang with the big boys get out of the way...
I agree with you. He is the champ for a while and hasn't fought a decent fighter as of yet. I don't buy into the bs of him being too young, then he shouldn't be a champ.
GBP are doing a de-service to him in that they are not getting real competition that would make him dig inside of himself to win. Lets see who they will pick for him in his next fight
True that. Not to mention he's already collecting million dollar paychecks without accomplishing anything meaningful. The day he steps in with a talented hungry fighter he could very well lose.
Erislandy Lara is a hungry fighter and possibly give him problems.
