Or knock him the f*ck out with a straight left. Not many fighters can handle flush Sergio Martinez's power shots. If Chavez can, he has a shot, but I don't see it happening.
If a robbery doesn't take place, Sergio will have to use lateral movement and avoid Jr.'s body punches. Kid hits hard and has developed a nice "delivery system" for them.
If the fight is scored honestly, i thank sergio can take it. He hits really hard. and is unpredictable, which could cause jr. confusion. If taken out of his game plan, he can be taken out.
Martinez isn't so world class boxer he's just fast and athletically superior that he beats people to the punch and dances away ala Roy jones he feints you outta position then explodes. As soon as he ages then it'll all go down hill.
Macklin was out boxing him for a while.
So was barker
If palvik was getting in that ass in the middle rounds.
If he gets old over night this will be jones Johnson all over again
If not then he'll Prbly ko Chavez
I didn't think PW would be KOed like that either. PW never got knocked down by any other fighter, and took bombs from glove loading chetto and another underrated power puncher in Lara, yet he got destroyed by Martinez. Martinez IMO is the hardest puncher in the sport right now, and not only that he lands punches that guys don't see coming. That's a deadly combination and it will end the night for Jr.
Agreed x10
I see a Jr. stoppage at around the 9th round. I don't see the KO in this fashion...
But the KO of Jr. will be more like this...
I think this time Jr. has gotten in too deep with a boxer like Sergio. Jr. will be outclassed.
I can´t wait to see Martínez getting knocked out during some of his sloppy clinches. Martínez better puts some nitro on his bike.

In their first meeting, Sergio and Paul took turns tasting the canvass. "Maravilla" hits hard, but he put Williams's lights out partly because Paul didn't see the KO punch coming.
Martinez needs to clinch and use the ring in order to win this fight. What else is the smaller fighter supposed to do? I don't think Martinez is gonna "run", but he's gonna have to box. Do you expect him to stand and trade with Chavez the entire night? That's the dumbest thing he could possibly do. Martinez's boxing ability tends to lead to stoppages, why should he change the formula now?
Way too many people on this forum think boxing is the same as "running." If "boxing" were two men walking to the center of the ring and exchanging punches, we may as well always give the belt to the bigger, stronger man. Thankfully, boxing is a science and an art; and men like "Maravilla" can use their skills to chop down their more imposing opponents.
yah i expect chavez jr to walk into straight lefts all night.....but i think chavez jr's chin will be good enough to see him through to the end of the fight... i'll give him that.

What this is going to look like is PW-Martinez 2. Jr will walk in with no jab and his chin exposed like he always does, Martinez will step to the side and blast him in the face with straight left's all night. Eventually he'll land the one that cracks Jr's chin and he'll be laying motionless on the canvas. Very easy fight for Martinez.

This fight will not be easy for Martinez. I'm a bigger fan of his than Chavez. Chavez is a big boy & Martinez isn't that big. Chavez knows how to apply pressure. Martinez is going to have to have his lateral movement on point & that straight left cannon as well. But Chavez is going to give him hell.
Sergio will mix it up...
He'll unload more than enough and clinch just enough to reset and continue to unload. Nothing ugly or excessive.
Jr.'s strong and non-complacent enough to break the clinches. He's going to have to be because clinching is a part of boxing.
I'd be glad if clinching were penalized on the level of low blows are, but it isn't, so as long the clinching isn't even close to excessive and causes the fight to be sloppy/ugly, I don't have much of a problem with it.
After realizing that He's in the ring with a true pressure fighter with a hell of a body punch, Martinez will resort to running.
This fight may depend on how well Chavez cuts the ring off.
I think you need to learn and watch a bit more Boxing to understand what you're trying to discuss. Judging from your comments on this thread and site it seems like you hacked an older user's account and just started spewing bullsh1t from a casual fan's point of view who just started watching Boxing this year.
That or this has been your alt troll account for years and you are wiping the dust off the old abandoned account and are about to use it more often and have some fun wasting your time on here. Either way you're an idiot and your comments on these threads and on this site are pathetically comical.
No acutally I've been following the sport for almost 10 yrs. I've been trolling on boxing scene since 07 but didn't register till 08. The thread is only my opinion nothing else. Chavez will beat Martinez based on each others last performance. I'm just hoping Sergio doesn't make it a stinker. Again that's my opinion no need to ruffle anyone's feathers.
