The Reyes gloves, often referred to as the punchers glove. Less padding on the knuckles more around the wrist.
This is the glove of choice for many of the big punchers in the sport.
So why did the likes of Mosely, Ortiz and Cotto abandon their glove of choice for their bouts with Floyd Mayweather jr?
Cotto used Everlast when facing Floyd, Ortiz and Mosley used Grants, but in prior fights all 3 have used the Reyes gloves and Ortiz switch back to Reyes's last weekend.
So does Floyd force them to switch from the punchers glove to a more cushioning glove, or is the just a happy coincidence?
Seems a very strange thing for a fighter to do when maybe their best chance of winning the bout was to landed the big KO blow.
which opponent?
your theory has been disproved repeatedly by me in here
Mayweather does not care
You admit he asked Ortiz, Ortiz accepted.
If he didn't care he wouldn't ask.
He tried with Oscar and Cotto to get them to wear gloves that are not meant for the weight class.
Gloves make a difference, if they didn't then why would Floyd care so much about what his opponent wears?

Only in NSB will special gloves, socks, trunks, and boots turn a fighter into and invincible beast lol!!!!

well to be honest
gloves do make a difference inspite of what people think
Gary Russell Jr swears by one set
Zab Judah another
Chavez Jr another
Not you the moron TS... I was just trying to say that Mayweather doesn't care that much about the gloves if he was requesting the lighter pair since it has less padding than a 10oz pair. You think he would want the 10oz. since he's so scared of power.
Mayweather doesn't care
he asked Ortiz, Ortiz accepted, is what I was told
everyone else got to choose their glove. Mosley, Hatton, Cotto etc
Won't the 8oz gloves also give more power to these power punchers though? Why was Pac allowed 8oz gloves in a catchweight @ 150lbs for a 154lb. title when neither him or Marqarito was ranked @ 154lbs? Why didn't the commission do their job and say no you have to use 10oz gloves since it's for a 154lb title? Do you only try to look for bull**** to fit your agenda?:bottle::boxing::bottle:
yes and no
8oz gloves do weigh less obviously but it's not as discernible as the size of a 10oz glove. Much wider than an 8
lol, i dunno why anyone makes these glove threads without consulting eaner0919 first. this has to have been like the 15th thread hes shut down on everyone and so called "facts".
thanks bro appreciate it
I figured as much.
you figured what?
and for the record Mosley was not required to wear Grants he chose to wear them. I know this for fact because he was choosing between us and Grant
Why did De La Hoya want 10oz gloves for his fight against Mayweather? Why did Cotto want the same when Mayweather requested 8oz gloves? Oh wait it doesn't fit your agenda so you overlook that!:bottle:
my agenda?
??
DLH Mayweather was at 154 in Vegas where 10oz gloves are generally required in any fight above 147 at that time (it was changed later)
Cotto had been in 10oz since what Foreman?

Mayweather wants the lighter gloves for speed. But the did it's job and 10oz was used.
Let the commission do their job.
sure
I was told by several people both close to Vic and his promoter that he was asked to wear Grants, they made a puncher's version of their glove (their standard version is not a puncher's glove in spite of the misinformation in here) and he wore it.
I was also told that after that he chose to go back to Reyes after that because he didn't feel like it was effective in being a puncher's glove

Because i have bought all available clitoris gloves on the market, there was nothing left for Floyd's opponents. It was all a part of our dirty plan, why do u think Mayweather is still undefeated?
Are you gonna tell us? :notworthy
sure

Floyd's hands have become an issue for him in the last few years. Reyes gloves are hard packed and not that comfy for Floyd's knuckles. He has hurt his hands punching people out. It happened with Baldomir.
Naturally, he wants to keep punching people without hurting his hands so he chooses the right tool for him. The man makes $85 million a year. He can choose whatever he wants.
actually Reyes gloves are loosely packed which makes it a better puncher's glove overall
the general line of thinking is the harder, denser the foam, the more protective the glove
morales has made damn near everybody wear winning gloves.
actually you're right Morales did this to Maidana and it sucked as Chino has been my fighter since Ortiz
