I've always said that Ortiz doesn't have the mindset to be a fighter. But he's fairly talented and usually entertaining and I was looking forward to the Alvarez fight.
U can tell Ortiz was losing his confidence as the rounds goes by. It seem like when it gets tough and things is not going his way the kid just quits. I'm not hating but damm ur in a sport where u have to take pain. It's like a runner quitting just cuz he can't catch the other guy lol..
It's not that he quit it's how he did it. Geez atleast come out and cover up then let the ref stops it. If he would of done it this way then we find out he has a broken jaw after it would have been ok he wouldn't be taking so much heat for it.
My jaw unhinged when yawning really hard once. **** hurt and felt weird as ****.
Did you attempt to go out on your shield and chew food like a man or get it fixed up by a doctor?
:lol1:
Wired shut for 4-6 months because of a fracture?
:lol1: cmon
seems excessive, for something like this I could see that...

Yeah, I think dude may have misspoken and meant to say 6 weeks. He is a boxer and takes punches to the head for a living.
LMAO....that makes sense. I wish dude luck, he did look f'd up after the fight.
A person I know trains with Victor Ortiz, spars with him regularly, was in the entourage and at ringside last night and at the hospital today prior to the surgery. I was told by this person that Ortiz' jaw has 4 fractures and the massive bleeding was like some sort of internal **** coming from down in his throat. This person said the doctors told Ortiz he might never be able to fight again and that his jaw will be wired shut for 4-6 months, probably. I'm just repeating what I was told so take it with a grain of salt but it does come from someone who is close to Ortiz and was present for everything, including right before he went into surgery today.

ever thought that maybe he's not instinctively a runner?
Anyway best wishes to him, I appreciate the great fight he and Lopes put on. Ditto to Matthysse and Soto, a great night's boxing.
I agree that both were great fights. Overall good night for the sport of Boxing.
Fck ortiz quit like a puta again. Could of just ran the whole fight and won.

I wish Victor a speedy recovery. A broken jaw ain't no joke. One of the guys at my gym suffered a broken jaw and the recovery was no fun ride for him, he's fully recovered now but he don't make the mistake of having his mouth open when in range anymore.
OK its is fine that his jaw is broken. Lopez broke it and Ortiz had to quit. He quit cause he had a legit reason to quit. Lopez out manned him.
Regardless the reason cause his history he is going to get a lot of crap from it
