I don't know why people think this is a feasible option. Cotto is not fighting in September, too quick of a turn around. He'd have to start camp in a week or two. Plus you need a ton of marketing and press conferences done....this is a big fight that warrants that, it's not something that you do as a late substitution. when has canelo sold good ppv #'s? the may/cotto #'s came from floyd and cotto not canelo Canelos not a paper view star but he has potential to be one and after may, pac, cotto , he and Chavez jnr are basically the next biggest draws specially that they have the whole of Mexico behind them. Camelot vs Cotto would b huge , they can play the while Mexico vs puerto Rico , and do some decent numbers

Cotto was the only fight to be made at 154 outside of Floyd & Martinez that was even ppv worthy to begin with. ginger is not a ppv star & we shouldn't allow them to act like he is. Fvck that throw his sorry a$$ on hbo championship boxing against whoever they choose for him to fight.

If CANELO is still going To fight on paper view sept 17, then COTTO is the only opponent who will be able to save the paper view, I think This fight would outsell Chavez /Martinez, and is the only option left..... But I actually hope they swallow pride and move the date or atleast CBS then. I would love for this fight to be made, but I think Cotto wins it and that's why GBP won't want to make it just yet. It'd be a great fight and would most certainly outsell Chavez-Martinez, because both Cotto and Canelo are huge stars in boxing in terms of PPV sales, whereas even though there is a lot of demand for Chavez-Martinez, Maravilla can't make up as many numbers. One things for sure though, if Cotto-Canelo is made that night, it'll be one of the biggest boxing nights for tv audiences in the last decade in terms of accumulation of PPV numbers.
