As an Ortiz fan I don't really care about the loss cuz overall I'm a fan of boxing, but I acknowledge that Ortiz will win fights and lose some. I just don't know how he's gonna handle this. Clearly, he laughs it off, but I know he feels like **** deep down inside. I mean he took a lot of **** from the media and public from the Maidana and Mayweather fight. Now he has to deal with this crap that just happened with Lopez. Ortiz seems like he's been through some depressions and anxiety in his life and he's a little off when you read his demeanor. For a young guy his life has been a bipolar ride. I'd put this kid on suicide watch, because I don't know if he wants to put up with too much bull****. It's crazy, but I think he hates the big stage. He should just take a few ESPN fights and redeem his hunger. He should seek a sports psychiatrist or something. I expect ppl to talk **** here, but **** those keyboard warriors...
It must have just sunk in that he just threw millions of dollars down the toilet.
I can guarantee he regrets his decision.
fight with Canelo would've never happened even had it gone to the score cards do you know how long you need to recover from a broken jaw?
Ortiz will be back on HBO/Showtime starting with the rematch next this guy never in a boring fights but he is overrated
Henry Ramirez, Lopez' trainer said that Victor's jaw was "completely broken" and that it was "Just hanging to one side".
I don't care if he quit, am tired of this "warrior" shiiet!!! If doesn't have to fight with a broken jaw, Nobody knows how phucking painful that shiiet is.
To me, it wouldn't surprise me if he did something crazy or turned to some bad habits. He just wants a check and wants to live a normal life like he said, "I don't define myself as a boxer, I'm more than that." He needs to realize he depends his life on the sport and I think he's lacking that kind of mentality. At the end of the day it is his job. If he couldn't close his mouth then I can understand.

Im hoping Ortiz pulls through, l actually think he should rematch Lopez and destroy him. Im still an Ortiz fan no matter how many big fights he blows., theres always drama in his bouts.
Idk about suicide but he clearly isn't all there upstairs...
I think the Maidana fight he quit in, idk if I consider this quitting...in technical terms yes but fighting with a broken jaw has to be pretty damn dangerous, especially in the kind of fight him and Lopez were in so I'm not quick to call someone a quitter/coward/etc.
Good fighter but he aint that sharp in the mental aspect of the game...hope he rebounds tho
Good for the thread starter for supporting his fighter,Most people jump ship when their guy comes up short.
comes up short? ortiz was winning on all the judres scorecrads before he quit. it was case of him quiting once agin just like in the maidana fight more thn anything . he's a mental fock up
At the very end of the broadcast it it showed Ortiz on the floor on with his head on a bench, he looked pretty depressed.
All the while spitting out blood. He looked physically and emotionally spent, but after that hellacious fight, who wouldn't be? Can anybody make a gif when Ortiz is in the locker room?
Yea you saw it too!
He was heart broken :''(
Yeah. I want to feel bad for him but it's his own fault he chose to fight with his mouth open not show any kind of signs of decent defense and told the ref he broke his jaw. I mean his cornerman didn't stop it did they? He called the ref over himself if I saw it right. Ortiz needs to pick himself back up. He should go after Malignaggi and then Bailey. LOL Two different extremes to prove he can deal with adversity. Even though it's proven he can't.
It's not even really about the loss, but about how the public portrays him now. He's gonna live his life labeled as someone who gives up. He knows he's better than that, but articles are gonna have his name in permanent ink ruining his reputation and discrediting anything he's done or what he's worth...
Vic is a human just like all the rest of us, even as a fighter, they are still humans. Maybe Vic should think about hanging it up? Deep down he seems like a good kid. I kinda feel for him, but i have a lot more compassion then your average person. Humans will be humans. I will keep him in my prayers. You never know what is going through a personas mind or what they are thinking. That's why i am never quick to judge anyone, cause i'm not in their shoes. I wish Victor the best. I wish others would have more compassion, just because these men are boxers doesn't mean they don't have feelings and are superhuman, but that's just the society we live in. Hopefully he will brush it off, i pray he does.
