Unfortunately a great fight is now being overshadowed by some gimps who's blood lust wasn't satisfied enough. Ortiz is in there for himself. If he doesn't want to risk dislodging a broken jaw further then that's up to him. I don't blame him. And neither should anyone else on this thread as we have no idea what we would do until we're in that situation.

I've only been in the ring 7 or 8 times but I know how rough it can be up there so I aint gonna call anybody a coward or quitter... But Abraham and Malignaggi had balls...Paulie's face was huge and he still fought a good fight... Ortiz bowing out against Maidana was far worse than what happened tonight...

'Twas a sad fight for a Whitaker fan like myself to watch. Years earlier he was gliding about the ring, slipping and ducking punches in poetic fashion, just clowning guys and making everybody look foolish by comparison. Granted he was well past his prime (and drugged up), but Tito put some hurt on him that night. Painful stuff. And NSB kids say Whitaker was a runner with no heart. :lol1: Whitaker had every reason to quit in that fight. End of his career, clearly done, not winning, yet he continued to the end. Another guy with no quit in him. I wouldn't have blamed him for quitting at all at that point but he just has that mentality. People's reactions to this are hilarious :lol1:
