Who is canela fighting next he needs to grow some Mexican huevos and fight 1 of the top 3 jrmiddleweights Cotto Lara Molina vanes...James Kirkland is recovering from his shoulder.this guy has been a champion for more than a year and hasn't even fought a top 5 jrmiddleweight he was hoping to catch a smaller quiter glass jaw Ortiz
I thought Ortiz was a good fight for Alvarez at this stage in his career. That went up in smoke. I would love to see Lara fill in. Cotto would be my next choice. I doubt either would happen. "Canelo" would lose to both.
BTW, who is that honey in your avi? You have some great taste, my brother! :fing02:
Josesito Lopez showed great heart. And 147 isn't even his weight class, if he goes back down to 140 he can really do some damage.
Going up is not near the problems going down is, Ive been saying this for ages , if he has any trouble making 140 going up to 147 can give him a huge boost ,,, you guys have got to take notice of weights instead of just taking them for granted .
Can you really see those fights selling on PPV at all? Williams, Ortiz, and Kirkland were good PPV worthy fights that would have gotten some good sales.
Well this is Canelo's first PPV headliner. No one should be expecting anything north of 1 Mil. Hell if he even did 500k that would be great. What was Mayweather's first PPV numbers?
They are also talking about CBS instead of Showtime PPV so maybe that is a better idea.
I say GBP just scrap the PPV event, go ahead and keep the sept 15 date and put Canelo in there with anyone of Quintana, Lara, or Trout and it'd do good numbers on HBO. And on top of that it would be a good way to counter attack Top Rank, offering a free fight on the same day as they're PPV.
In terms of the more likely opponent, I'd say Trout. Lara is much too risky and less rewarding. And if they do indeed book Trout then the PPV definitely has to be off, actually none of the opponents that I mentioned are PPV worthy. Only ppv worthy fighter I can maybe see is Kirkland, but even that is a hard sell I think
Molina K9 Quintana. There is a couple more possibilities but those would be the best following Trout and Lara.

Alvarez - Lara would be a great fight. The one reason I can't see it happening is that Lara stands a much better chance of outboxing, and beating, Canelo than a technically-inferior fighter like Kirkland would.
I highly doubt GBP would risk derailing the Saul train for the sake of a fighter, like Lara, who is unfamiliar to casual boxing fans.
I see them pulling the September date altogether and having Canelo - Kirkland in December.

I'd rather see Kirkland/Molina 2, although the first frustrated me. K9 is just waiting to land a big one, and doing a bunch of nothing while he waits. I was one of the first people talking about a Canelo/Quintana fight, but it isn't PPV-worthy (nor is K9/Canelo for that matter).
Some invisible hand is moving all the pieces right now. Williams out, Ortiz out, Golden Boy needs to wake the **** up. Trout or Lara, nobody else should be fighting Canelo.

They should just make the Lara fight, I mean who else is there? K-9?
lol De La Hoya might be thinking of coming back just to let Canelo beat on him to make him a star.
The floyd fight should happen then, canelo wants it, regardless of what oscar said.. Floyd doesnt have any opponent too. He'd choose canelo over pac, martinez and guerrero.
