I'm trying to get my cousin into boxing and I want to show her some exciting fights. I'd like to hear some suggestions. I was thinking about recent fights though.
Berto vs Ortiz
Maidana vs Khan
Williams vs Martinez I and II (just to see an awesome KO)
Ortiz vs Maidana
Anymore suggestions?????
The 3min pac-cotto highlight of HBO is the thing i always show my friends to hype a pac fight, but then again they are Filipino so they are always pro pac, no need to do it actually.. when they blast mayweather, i always show them the may-marquez fight , and show them how easy work marquez is for may.. and I also show them clips on how pac cant handle marquez...
Cotto-Margarito II
Ortiz-Berto
Mayweather-Gatti
Pacquiao-Hatton
Little bit of everything. Revenge, a war, an ATG doing his thing, and another ATG putting another man to sleep.
Pawel Wolak - Delvin Rodriguez I
Surprised I didn't see this already posted, high action fight between 2 midcard boxers on a random FNF card. Great fight with plenty of hard hitting and blood/gore, this was a strong candidate for Ring Magazine's 2011 Fight of the Year.
Also, I'm sure this has already been posted, but Ortiz - Berto, the winner of 2011's Fight of the Year. Another high action, high intensity fight, with knockdowns galore and the perfect mix of brawling and technical boxing.
Just some recent fights that came to mind based on the type of match you were looking for :D
Recently:
Cotto-Mayweather Jr.
Salido-Lopez II
Lee-Chavez
All Time:
Corrales-Castillo I
Vasquez-Marquez Trilogy (Yes yes, I know a fourth fight happened, in my mind it never happened)
Barrera-Morales Trilogy
Tyson vs Mcneely
Tyson-Holyfield 2
Mayweather-Ortiz
Hopkins-Dawson 1
Pacquiao-Bradley
Abril-Rios
Then look him dead in the eye and say "son, go watch a different sport, boxing will only break your heart."
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That's classic right there! LOL!!!
The first set of fights that came to mind (particularly because I was on the Show---e website) were Salido-Lopez 1 and 2. Those were epic especially when you take into consideration the fighter's backgrounds, odds, and as always, the rivalry between Puerto Rico and Mexico. Other fights worth revisiting are:
Maidana-Khan
Ortiz-Berto
Arce-Vasquez
Bailey-Jones
Cotto-Judah or even Cotto-Mosley
Hamed-Barrera
Marquez-Diaz
I show Pacquiao Maragarito
Small little guy smashing on some big guy and clearly beating them up.
If your showing fights to people who are getting into boxing make sure they contain action knockdowns and KO's
Then once they are a fan they can appreiciete technical battles...
Tyson vs Mcneely
Tyson-Holyfield 2
Mayweather-Ortiz
Hopkins-Dawson 1
Pacquiao-Bradley
Abril-Rios

Show fights where one fighter looks amazing, that has always worked for me. Mayweather-Gatti, Pacquiao-Cotto, Martinez-Williams 2, something memorable.
Sounds like your cousin likes blood and guts. lol
Salido vs. Lopez 1 and 2
Definitely this for recent wars. If you show them Lopez Salido 2 and they don't like it feel free knowing you don't need them if your life. Honestly there are good fights and then there are call everyone in your phone and tell them to turn it on good which is what I considered Lopez Salido 2 to be.

Chavez Jr's Career...."El Dinero Vaca" always delivers the goods.
Roberto "Manos de Piedra" Duran vs Sugar Ray Leonard I
I think we're not allowed to post that many videos on here, that wastes the sites bandwidth.
Anyway, SRL vs Duran is a great fight for hardcore boxing fans. But the quality of the video and the action in the fight is not first timers. You're not trying to bore her to death. You have to lure them in with crazy action fights first, then slowly, slow down, showing them the richer, more technical, ATG fights.
Gatti vs Ward
Corrales vs Castillo
Marquez vs Pacquiao I
Just to add a few that might garner some interest in boxing. Mainly for the outpour of heart from those fights.
