Pac's offensive game is held at such a high standard that when opponents seem to block/dodge his punches they get credit for it but when pac does the same like the bradley fight where he pretty blocked most of bradley's punches people go " OMG Pac is getting outboxed "!
Bradley was ducking for his life to evade pac's punches and still getting grazed by some of them and people give him credit for it. Yet when pac blocks all of bradley's " keep away jabs " he's outboxing pac? lol
Speak for yourself. I don't hold Pacman's offense to any high standard. He looks fabulous if you stand in front of him & eat shots. Add movement & he suddenly becomes very ordinary.
Then his fans say that he got bored. Or gave away rounds, or people are running. When in fact they're moving & boxing in a sport called boxing, lol!!
1) Ring Generalship
2) Clean Effective Punching
3) Effective Agression
4) Defense
This pretty much is the end of thread...
did you just say you get 0 points for defense???really???
If kindly read my statement, yes. It isn't a rag on boxing. It's just the way the scoring system works. If BOXER A evades BOXER B's punch, there's no points earned. That's what I meant.
I will repeat, boxing has become an offensive sport based on hitting (scoring).
bear in mind also that this is the same pacman whom idiots say is one-dimensional, amateurish, come-forward, overrated boxer; he fought nothing but weight-drained, old, out of their prime fighters; jmm schooled him; floyd da best would stop him in the 8th round, you name it.
come fight night the same idiots expect him to fight in a superman-like manner and massacre his opponent. at the same time they expect nothing from the challenger. as long as he survives pac, it's okay. in this case, they didn't even have to focus on the young, undefeated bradley who is supposed to be one expected to shine and illuminate some signs that the future of boxing is bright.

I hear you! Any kind of objectivity at this point has been thrown out the window when it comes to judging Mayweather and Pacquiao fights. They both have been dominant against pretty damn good opposition. I think people are just looking for flaws in their game. I have to say a lot of the criticism should be projected towards the two fighters themselves for not fighting each other. They are both obviously the two best in or around their division and have not chosen to step in their against each other. Just a bunch of **** talkin bull**** from each camp for the past 3 years, makes me sick as a fan. Mainly because the sport has been held hostage for so long, because these brats can't hash out their differences at the negotiating table. So now we're left with threads on sites like this where fans of each of the fighter's tear down the performances of the two, when any objective person who watches the sport can see that that Mayweather and Pac have been nothing but dominant to very good in their past fights.
Now I am almost positive I will receive a collection of responses from Floyd fans saying something like " hey dog did you see what Marquez did in that last fight with Pacquiao, he was robbed. Subsequetly I am sure to see Pac fans conjure up a return response of... " bro Cotto pushed Floyd' s ass to the limit, Floyd is definitely slowing down dog."
I say shut up with all this nonsensical BS. God forbid Pac should have a close contested fight with a modern legend in Marquez. In fact every one that tries to put down Pacquiao for his performance against Marquez is indirectly being critical of Marquez. Same with Cotto. Cotto has been a beast for years in this game, someone who has exhibited a honor and toughness against some very good opposition over the years, I think he deserves major props for his effort against Floyd.
That being said it doesn't mean we have to **** on Floyd or Pac because they were in competitive fights against future Hall of Famers. I think we can all agree that its clear that they're both extremely good and their performances have proved that.

I'm not gonna argue by how much Floyd & Pacman won by. I do believe they both won close competitive fights. I just see Floyd fans & Pacman fans doing identical things. Both fanbases act like their man dominated the fights, which in my opinion they did not.
I disagree with you as well, it's not the same thing. The commentating for the May-Cotto fight was nowhere near as biased as it was for Bradley-Pacquiao. The May-Cotto fight was clearly not as close as well.
You'd think a Pacquiao punch would be one of the easiest punches to dodge. He just throws a ton of them.
yup , thats why marquez kissed the canvass 4 times in 3 fights..:poke:
what these guys said. it's like some of these retards still think scoring is all about clean effective punching even after years of watching boxing
For real. People using amateur boxing rules to score fights.
Historically challengers are suppposed to be seen to be trying to do something, go beyond the call of duty so to speak or do you suddenly not know that? How can you compare the tiger and absolute beast of an animal that nearly took JMMs head off his shoulders, and people being scared for JMM recieving one more punch or it could be over to Bradley and Pac?
Your just making things up as you go along now.
son what fight were you watch??most had JMM winning the 2nd fight
what does him being the champ mean???he took JMM belt at 130 in a controversial fight.JMM was the champ

another reason Manny Pacquiao lost was because he was looking so bad at times missing wildly hitting nothing but air and off balance while Bradley just taunts him.
Close fight neither guy dominated any rounds and Bradley was looking less stupid when he miss
YOur just making things up as you go along now.
Pac landed more than Bradley everyone can agree on that. And who was the champ as well? Bradley got the decision and didnt deserve it, JMM must be outraged at the judges.

to be fair all fighters get credit for the defense and Manny miss are wild they make the other opponent look good.
****ing Bradley was looking like Pernell Whitaker at times slipping Manny punches
yes he did,lol

You being serious?
Manny landed all but 1 effective punch on a one legged Bradley.
You all cry about how Bradley didn't land much but it was the same for Pac.

I have to disagree. Floyd took the first 4 rounds clearly, and the 5th was competitive with Cotto trapping Floyd on the ropes, but Cotto got too much credit for simply just having Floyd on the ropes. Floyd out fought Cotto the 5th and clearly landed the cleaner and more telling punches that round. The 6th round was a clear Cotto round, as the 7th was a clear Floyd round, where as the 8th was again a Cotto round. That fight was 6-2 going into the 9th. You could possibly give Cotto the 9th, it was a really close round where both had their moments. And Floyd took the last 3 rounds clearly. 118-110/117-111 Floyd.
If anything the announcers made that fight seem closer than it was. Remember Jim Lampley saying Floyd had lost 4 rounds in a row and that the fight could be up int he air going into the last round, that was pure bull s**t. Cotto won 2-3 rounds, 4 at the very most.
Bradley won 2-3 rounds, 4 at the most as well. But that fight looked different because Pac faded late in the fight, and let Bradley back in the fight sort of, amking it closer than it should have been. Bradley took round 1, and round 2 was pretty competitive but Pac landed the cleaner and effective punches. Pac took rounds 3-8, though the 7th was closer than HBO or Pac fans are making it out to be, especially rewatching it. The 9th was close,c ould have gone either way, both had their moments. Round 10 was clearly Bradley, round 11 was close and again cold have gone either way, and round 12 was Bradley to me. 117-111 Pac is what I had it. Could see 118-110 if you gave every close round to Pac or 116-112 if you gave every close round to Bradley.

landing the cleaner and harder shots. LOL
Manny did nothing for 2 minutes of most rounds and most of the shots you think were landing were not............hence bradley had a clear face after the fight
and manny was doing what???nothing did ya'll say that manny would beat floyd by "workrate"but now that manny gets outworked it isnt good enough??lmfao
landing the cleaner and harder shots. LOL
