I just realized something, if the rematch ever happens it will be robert garcia vs danny garcia in the corners. Adds a whole new story line to the rematch.
Aside from the Garcia bros in opposite corners angle I think it was also a slight dig at Ortiz to have the guy who gave him his first L train at the rival gym.
I think Ortiz would steamroll him.
Maidana no KO's since Cayo.
I don't see it happening. Ortiz is improving and I see Mariana probably going in the other direction.
I agree ortiz is improving but he could very well lose to canelo. If he loses to canelo and maidana beats thurman maybe we can get the rematch?
Already knew this. Maidana-Ortiz II will happen someday, and Ortiz wins at 147.

that came to my mind the other day when someone made a similar thread about matching maidana and ortiz again. It would sure as hell make the lead up to the fight interesting
Ortiz would beat him, but he's not going to get the chance. After Keith stops Maidana, I see Maidana's stock falling outside the realm that Ortiz is in at welterweight.

I wouldnt be suprised at all if ortiz stopped him in the rematch, one thing is for sure though maidana definitely has the mental advantage going into the fight. I think this rematch will definitely happen in the near future.
in the experience and time ortiz, has developed into a better fighter, i belive if they do fight again hell stop maidana..........
I don't think Ortiz is any better, he's just fresher and bigger. Maidana would get stopped.
Maidana admitted to being too small for 147, and Ortiz is a big WW. Ortiz might knock him out this time. A young Ortiz did put down and hurt Maidana already.
But you can never be too sure though. Remember Marquez-Pacquiao III. Where Marque was made to look like he didn't belong there by Floyd, then 2 years later at the same weight he beat Pacquiao, who has beaten before. And every one including me, thought Pacquiao will stop him. But that was far from what happened.
Maybe this would just be another case that styles make fights and we see the same results.
