Both were my favorites at the time and it would have been hard seeing the judges declare one of them a loser that night. Both fought their hearts out.
Chavez D Whitaker
Whitaker D Chavez
Cant decide which looks better. Doesnt matter though, the judges decided and they both won!
It's funny how Floyd fanatics think.
Pac outclasses Bradley(who I'm a fan of) and they praise the judges.
You go back when a AA boxer loses and they go apeshit over the decision. Calling the judges blind and stuff.
"But but, its officially a win!"
Yea, and Pernell could never beat Chavez, ever.
All he could muster was a lousy draw. So much for skills paying the bills.
I think T/S is just being sarcastic and trying to catch the people that are saying "Bradley won, it's in the record books" then fail to acknowledge the draw that appears in the record books next to the Whitaker vs. Chavez fight. Both were bad decisions and the general public acknowledges that for the most part. Whitaker kept his belt, ended Chavez' winning streak and is a hall of famer. Manny maintained his ranking and is still a hall of famer regardless.
Look, boxing is a sport that you have to sit back, enjoy and form your own opinion. You can't look at stat sheets, achievements and records to compare fighters like you can with baseball players because it's all subjective. Judges decisions have no impact on what I think about a fighter. I still think Hopkins is one of the greatest fighters of our era despite "losses" to Taylor twice and Calzaghe.
I don't care how much I like a fighter if he lost fair and square he lost. And I would give props to the victor.
That fight in no ways was a draw. I think I gave Chavez three rounds. At least they got it right when he fought Frankie Randall cause that fight was close
Switch "Whitaker" with "Pacquiao" and "Chavez" with "Bradley" and I doubt some of your responses are the same.
PacBradley was just as close as Pea and JCC. Most of the world saw it differently except for the three most important men in the room, the judges.
Respect their decisions right?
Not sure what Pacquaio - Bradley has to do with anything, but okay I'll bite.
No, actually, I don't respect the judges decision in that fight either. I personally felt it was closer than a lot of people, but I gave Bradley 5 rounds and couldn't see him getting any more than that.
On topic, you're still a moron for being grateful that one of your "favourite" fighters was robbed of a clear victory.
I thought you had more sense than that, TS. Pernell won that fight and was literately the better man in every category and sense of the word. To be happy with that joke of a decision is just disgusting!
I'm gonna go throw up now.anything they can to suck Manny's dick :nonono:...most terrible fan base any athlete or team has ever had in the history of sports.
Sweat Pea won that fight, One of the best all round fighters that ever lived, great defensive skills, threw beautiful combinations, could box as the aggresor or counter puncher, excellent footwork, quick hands, only thing he lacked was punching power.
AND HE BEAT CHAVEZ.

Pac-Bradley was closer than most all saying it was, but Pac CLEARLY WON. Whitaker-Chavez wasn't a shutout or total domination, but he CLEARLY WON.
Judges thought Lara lost to Williams, Abril lost to Rios, and Campillo lost to Cloud..............
I highly doubt you were watching the sport when Whitaker-Chavez happened, or know how to score a fight. No one thought that fight was a draw, aside from hardcore Chavez fans or Mexican fans and the judges.
Sweet Pea beat that ass
If that fight was anywhere other than San Antonio, Sweet Pea would've won. Im from San Antonio, a black fighter isnt beating a popular Mexican fighter on a decision in the 210
How can anyone be thankful for that? Pea got robbed... how can someone who claims to be his fan be thankful for that decision?
I swear NSB gets worse everyday...

Clearly?
Judges didnt think so.

if the fight was close i can understand you were happy with a draw but it wasnt. regardless of who you like dont you want to see the man who earned the victory get it?
whitaker beat him and was robbed, chavez wasnt done any favors either since even his own fans knew he lost. how can anyone be happy with that travesty?
Whitaker ran and show boated to much
