With Pac-Marquez all but set for November, with Chavez-Sergio set for September, with Ortiz-Canelo set for September (could maybe move to a different date even later as well), who would you like to see Floyd fight if he were to return in December???
The only name I can think of outside of the Alvarez-Ortiz winner, Sergio, and Pac.....is probably Amir Khan.
I honestly don't know who else there would be to fight, if he were to return in December.
Any ideas????
Cotto rematch. I think Khan will suffer an upsetIt will be a Cotto rematch...except this time Floyd fights like he did the last 3 rounds...he's gonna go out and pitch a Floydesque shutout...calling it now.

Khan would been looking "alright", but we have to see how he "Looks" against Garcia. But they don't seem to be inline for Mayweather.
I doubt he fights in DEC.
The Ortiz/Canelo winner is the best fight. Two realtively big names would sell for a May 5th weekend, which seems like a good $$ option for GBP/Mayweather. A win for Canelo does more good than a Win for Ortiz at this point. Canelo showdown would do great if he does look impressive against Ortiz, take the a common opponent angle on it.
first thing first,as for anyone, they must win their fights and look good doing it.
have to wait and see how the future shapes up.
Guerrero seems confident in getting that opportunity as well.
He also thought Floyd was going to fight him in May.
I want to see Guerrero beat Aydin, and than fight Devon Alexander. Than, if he wins those, on to bigger and better things.
It will be Robert Guerrero if he beats Aydin!
Robert I am sure becomes his Mandatory if he defeats Aydin

Well if he's really to be affected by jail...then I think somewhere in the Berto/Alexander area.
I think he'll look to face Bradley though. Beat the man who has a recorded "W" over Manny.
Haymon fighters have never ever fought each other. Haymon wouldn't let that happen unless it's a really big money fight that is guaranteed to make a lot money for the two fighters and himself. Mayweather-Berto at this point does not really fit that description. They're both Haymon fighters, Berto is in a rebuilding stage right now. He has to clear his name up and he needs a good win.
And he will not face Bradley because Bradley is a Top Rank fighter, and Floyd has never fought a Top Rank fighter.
Alexander is the only realistic option that you mentioned.
Khan is the only person that will bring an audience in December, you can also point to Canelo if he beats Victor Ortiz and Sergio Martinez would be a very interesting fight at 154lbs if he gets past Julio Caesar Chavez, Jr.
He should unify 147 :lol1:. Quite a hit list there. Bailey, Paulie, Bradley. Unifying belts is really pointless though because they just invent new ones to award people nowadays. If a star like Khan or Pac needed a belt they'd just make one up.
Has anyone ever been undisputed in his 4th weight class?

to all of you talking about feb or march, you must keep in mind floyd wants to fight in may every year. he's not gonna fight in fed or march and then again in may.
if he fights again this year it's either khan or cotto
I believe the only option would be for Floyd Mayweather to fight Amir Khan right now, that's only if Khan is able to beat Danny Garcia. Otherwise I think Floyd would look at taking on either Canelo or Ortiz in the winner of that fight.
Although I don't see him fighting again this year, if he does fight in December his options are very limited. I think he comes back in 2013, unless he decides to "retire" again, and comes back in 2014 lol.
But the most realistic fights in December 2012 for Floyd, would be...
1. Amir Khan/Danny Garcia winner
2. Miguel Cotto II
3. Robert Guerrero if he beats Aydin
4. Devon Alexander
5. Erislandy Lara
Oh let's not forget how big Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Anthony Mundine would be in Australia :lol1:
I would love for him to fight a Thank You for the Support type of Fight on HBO WCB against a fringe contender or even someone like Paulie Malignaggi or even take the IBF from Randall Bailey.
Do a little image rehabilitation, fight for "free" and get himself into proper fighting shape.
For the good of the sport, if Floyd were to lose, he should lose being at his best, not coming out of jail against a Top Fighter like Cotto/Pac/Sergio/etc. I want Floyd to get his warm up in Dec, get quality rounds in and then go out in style in 2013.
I HIGHLY doubt Mayweather will fight this year but IF he did then Khan seems to be the only viable option if he puts in a great performance against Garcia.
And i have no doubt whatsoever Khan would take that fight in a heartbeat.
I know Khan has said many times he'd like a fight or two at 147 before Floyd however, im sure he knows if he doesn't take the fight in December(if Floyd is ready for Dec.) then he very well may not get another chance to fight him.
However, like i said, im 90% sure Mayweather wont fight again this year. Hope he does though.
He should fight Alvarez....only to get jobbed like Pac did in the Bradley fight.
Both of their punishment for not fighting each other already. I seriously have no more interest for either fighter and won't pay another dime to watch either of them, if it isn't against each other.
Then we can be done with them in the sport, and usher in the new generation of fighters, who are willing to fight each other.
Out with the old, in with the new
