Wow. Terrible fight. Atleast Broner-Escobedo is a solid stay busy fight.

So from what i'm reading this thurman kid is the real deal...

Thurman is way too fast for Maidana and might be too big and Powerful I think he becomes the first to Stop Maidana, if not then he scores a UD for Sure and Thurman is basically Randell Bailey with MORE SPEED and Better Overall Boxing Skills...VERY HEAVY HANDED! i agree..I like the fight.

haven't heard of keith thurman before...just checked out one of his fights, and the guy seems to have some good power. eventhough he is only just a prospect it should be an exciting fight while it lasts.

I thought maidana was going back down to 140? but I looked thurman up on boxrec and hes a 5'11 welter 17-0 with 16 KO's...hes never fought past 8 rounds though. I guess its at welterweight then. His claims of dropping back down to 140 was just an excuse for his loss. Bet he can't even make the weight any longer.

Big mistake, BIG. So I checked Youtube and now I remember who Thurman was, not a good fight for Maidana to take while trying to rebound his career. He just got with Garcia too :nonono:

Seriously. Everyone who is handling Maidana's career (Garcia etc.) are idiots for taking this fight. I wouldn't say that. But, they are idiots if they decide to over-look the opposition cuz he doesn't have a name. This could be the fight that makes us change our perception of Maidana for the worst.

So i really can't decide if you're dissing Thurman (who is undefeated) or Maidana. both of them are going to be in there banging, thurman can punch. it's actually good matchmaking for Maidana if you think he is going to win. a fight where he can look like the old Marcos ppl love. this is more evenly matched than Maidana vs any other top level fighter right now. you can pencil in a LOSS for Marcos against those guys at the moment. Fat Dan is just dissing Golden Boy fights because he got owned by Oscar De La Hoya via twitter.

Maybe it was just me but I thought Maidana's power looked average at best in his debut at welter vs alexander. Damn I wish he would go back down to lww and wreck sht again like he was doing before. It would have been nice if he fought the soto vs mathysse winner or a rematc/title shot vs khan/garcia. I thought so too, at least I was hoping he would go back down to 140 & maybe target the likes of the Soto vs Matthysse winner. I think Thurman has fought at 154, he is pretty big but his chin is certainly suspect which is never a good thing against a guy like Maidana.

This could be an entertaining fight... a warrior against a very good prospect, both heavy handed. Thurman is quicker, Maidana has much more experience. Thurman can score a big upset IMHO
