in case u missed it. now tell me this guy doesnt deserve mention as one of the best at featherweight? imo if donaire goes thru featherweight and never fights him, it'll be a duck.
damn I wish I couldve watched this fight, the party I was at watched the rest of tics vs Heat. Rigo looks more beastly now compared to his past couple of fights, not sure if it was Kennedy who just showed nothing.
Rigo has been saying that he want's to be more exciting. Would love to see this Rigo more.
Converted. the majority of the Cubans that trained in the amateur system and fight southpaw are converted.
Knew it. Thanks. Gonna watch more of his fights and study his technique as I am a converted southpaw myself. So i'm guessing Lara is also a converted southpaw?
i find it disturbing that donaire claims that he knows nothing about rigo & would never fight him due to him being boring (in the words of donaire)
everyone is talking about donaire vs rigo, but how would these 2 even meet when donaire claims that he barely knows who that is?
you guys need to SLOW DOWN & concentrate on putting more heat on donaire to get this fight done. just talking about donaire vs rigo is useless.....
And I would hope they don't attempt to build that fight as stylistically that would be an insanely boring fight.

this has been stated on hbo everytime a cuban fighter fights. lol
Rigondeaux is a class act, a genuine talent! I don't know what his drawing power is like in the USA on TV or live gate, but he's one fighter a lot of promoters will avoid because he's so dangerous. One of my favourite fighters.
Donaire talks crap non stop about Rigo, but he knows deep down that he would be in a real fight if it ever gets made, but going on Arums past experience Donaire will get a pass to avoid him for well known and exciting fighters like Mathembula or whatever his name is
It was only Teon Kennedy, but god damn Rigondeaux is f**king incredible.
Everyone knows he's not going to get any fights with guys like Nishioka-Mares-Moreno-Arce because it would put crazy pressure on Arum to make Rigo-Donaire if Rigo stomps those guys. The best fights he'll are solid/good fights with guys like Shimoda, Vazquez Jr/R. Marquez, Ndlovu, or Molitor, until Donaire leaves the division of course.
It's funny how Donaire fans stick up for him straight up refusing, and publicly admitting, he will not fight Rigondeaux.
its sad is what it is. these same ppl criticize rigon like he hasnt done anything. which would be a legit point if donaire wasnt trying to make fights with the likes of mijares and arce instead of guys like nishioka. we all know he probably wont fight moreno or mares but theres absolutely nothing holding back a rigondeaux fight but donaire and top rank.

He doesn't..... Because he doesn't fight at featherweight
I like that he is showing more killer instinct and is looking to finish his opponents. Dude is an assassin. Definitely one of the best fighters in the world.
Question for die hard jackal fans. Is he a natural lefty? or is he a converted southpa?
I would like that very much. WVII would be just the kind of opponent Guillermo needs at this point in his career, in my opinion. Rigo can't just step into a fight with Donaire after trouncing guys like Teon. By the same token, as you say, Nonito would be facing a much higher-quality opponent than ever in Rigo.
I wouldn't mind seeing him fight the Vazquez Jr-R. Marquez winner, Shimoda, Molitor, or Ndlovu. All good fights for him. He's not going to sniff a Donaire fight ever, it's never going to happen. And he's not going to get big fights with Nishioka, Mares, Moreno, or Arce, because it'd put big pressure on Arum to make Rigo-Donaire if Rigo beats one or two of those guys.

the same could be said about donaire, but i think rigo's next opponent will be wilfredo

rigondeaux showed exceptional speed (especially with that left hand) and power...BUT against a very outmatched opponent. i'd like to see donaire vs rigondeaux either later this year or if not then early next year...i think donaire beats rigo btw.
great fighter, very good counterpuncher, lethal left hand...hasn't disappointed yet, other than the mentioned, hesitantly fought Cordoba bout, but sometimes that's what you get when both guys focus on countering.
Rigo is great and everything so why can't I get his fight with Cordoba out of my head.
everyone has bad fights. everyone. its all about how u recover from them, and hes recovered quite well imo.
Rigo did what a superior fighter is supposed to do against inferior opposition. He made it look easy. It's nice to see "El Chacal" put on a display of what me and the rest of his fans have known for a long time, and others are only starting to recognize.
I'd like to see Guillermo take on at least a couple of better quality fighters before facing Nonito (if that fight ever happens). Fighting Donaire would be worlds apart from Kennedy.
