i seriously doubt that he probably believes in his mind that cotto punches like a girl and was not hurting him. even against mosley, who was knocking the **** out of him, he didnt look like it was effecting him mentally. he did not come back gunshy in the least. some guys dont get effected in that sense by a stoppage loss. even mosley was not making margarito lose consciousness. he just couldnt stand up under all the punishment and his legs were obviously effected. the lights were still on and he was not cowering from the punishment. want to see a fighter effected mentally? cotto in the first margarito fight. marg is as tough a fighter as you will ever see. Yeah, I'm not saying he wasn't tough, but if he really thought that lowly of Cotto, and he lost a fight he believed he was and could win in the rematch, that the Dr.'s stopped the fight too soon...you don't think that's going to hurt him inside? All that false bravado crap is not a solid foundation for fond memories. Many boxers smile when they get hurt. The truth will surface unless he is in deeper denial than i would think. I like we can all agree that Margarito was one mean dude. We wouldn't retire unless he had to. And, of course, the eye is the reason he can't fight. It would be a fitting twist of fate if Cotto were the one who retired Margarito. Yet, without the damage caused by Pacquiao, Cotto couldn't have exploited the eye like he did. If anyone says Cotto then they are some mean nuthuggers. It was definitely Pacquiao. He was the one who fked up the eye. Cotto only exploited it. A case could be made for Nasim Richardson like someone said. Or a combination of both, Pacquiao and Richardson.

To all of the Marg fans: Cotto will always be greater than Marg. Marg will probably end up like other war torn and damaged boxers living in a basement, abusing drugs and alcohol while carelessly spending what little money he has accrued. Shane dominated him the worst. Stopped him. Took no punishment at all. Pac took damage, but gave more. Cotto got beat up very badly, then got lucky that the ref stopped it the second time or else he would have gotten stopped again by Margarito in the 12th. All in all, no one man retired Margarito. He took so many shots in his career and it finally caught up with him. He was a warrior.

mosley started it and pac ended it....cotto didnt do anything at all ... Mosley beat him to death, Pacquiao buried him...Cotto pissed on his grave. No disrespect to Tony. I don't think anyone actually hopes the worst for him. Hopefully he can retire in peace and find something else worthwhile to do rather than risk permanently impairing his vision.

Bottom line Margo wa a face first fighter and the accumulative effect of all those punches over the years he was going to show wear and tear. The first Cotto fight Margo took so much damage that TR had a fight date set in November and it had to be moved cause Margo at that point didn't heal completly (a point that he went MIA before signing the Mosley fight). Mosley destroyed him. Pac put permanent damage into Margo Cotto exploited the damage eye. The last time that Margo looked good was in the first Cotto fight. Comming foward and just eating punches in order to land just wasn't working no more for him. If that eye wasn't so damaged he would had continued to fight, I vote Pac ended his career
