At 130 and 135 he beat the best guys their.....at 140 Kostya Tszyu lost his title to Ricky Hatton the same year Floyd beat Gatti....Floyd went on to beat Hatton at 147 after Hatton's team said he wasnt ready yet at 140....
at 147 people claim he ducked Paul Williams and Margarito, but really how is it ducking someone when you are making more money and fighting for the real world title?
Against Baldomir and beating the previous champion in Judah and has the best resume out of any active Welterweight with wins over Judah, Baldomir, Ortiz, Mosley, Marquez, Hatton, and Mitchell....beating two champions mean alot more than beating to contenders, also all risk no reward....
at 154 he beat the number one guy at the weight twice....ODLH and Cotto were the top rated junior middleweights when he fought them
My Picks:
1) Manny Pacquiao: the fight still is a possibility but if Bradley beats Pacquaio chances are the fight wont happen. His closest "percieved" rival
2) Kostya Tszyu: Would have been a great name on his resume but if he had fought him in 2004-2005 and beat him convincingly they'd have just said he was shot or made an excuse
3) Prime Mosley at 135....politics and Mosley chasing ODLH stopped this great match up from happening
at this point outside of beating Martinez at middleweight for the title their isnt nothing left that would prove his greatness or add to his resume
NONE!
Because regardless I don't think any of those fighters people say he "DUCKED" would have defeated Mayweather anyway...not Margarito, not Kostya Tszyu, not Cotto in his PRIME, not Mosley in his PRIME either because Mosley wasn't good against "BOXERS" in his PRIME EITHER, he would out-classed by Winky and the late Vernon Forrest, Mosley in his PRIME was a best against Mexican Fighters who came forward, his Hand Speed allowed him to beat them to the Punch

Floyd loses to Tszyu at 140. This the reason he dodged Tszyu. Tszyu was unstoppable at 140. It was a clear dodge and this was the beginning of the end for Floyd's legacy. After Tszyu I will point to avoiding Cotto for 5 years and still unwilling to sign up against Mannie Pac. But Tszyu was the man that would have cemented Floyd's status...had he fought him and won.
I don't want to talk about about Tszyu because I was a fan...but Mayweather would have boxed Circles around Tszyu IMO
and by the way Floyd really did not "DUCK" Tszyu because Tszyu never pursued a Mayweather fight nor did he ever call out Mayweather, when asked about a possible fight with Mayweather he just said "IT WOULD BE A GOOD FIGHT" and he talked about how he fought his Uncle (Roger) already
again this is the difference between fans who was watching boxing back then compared to fights who are getting their information from google which is linking then to old forum comments posted by people who are as Clueless about boxing then they are...I guess you can say he Ducked Margarito because that is how Arum painted that Picture, he just went around saying "Mayweather Declined The Offer to Fight Margarito" but he did not tell the fans that Mayweather left Top Rank because he wants to fight Oscar for a lot more money and more EXPOSURE...who in the hell could argue that move by Floyd now considering how things turned out, he got a huge Payday with Oscar, made history with him and got the Exposure that would ultimately make him the Biggest Draw In Boxing
as for Cotto in his PRIME...it is the same thing with Tszyu...that fight was never pursued by Cotto, he even admit that himself that they never discussed fighting Mayweather when he was with Arum
as then Shane Mosley in his PRIME, when asked about fighting Mayweather he said he is going on Vacation and is going to go get some Dental Work Done because his front tooth was loose
^THESE ARE THINGS THAT ARE ALWAYS LEFT OUT! But I can't blame the ignorant fans who just don't know and they only run around repeating what they was told from some other idiots who don't know the full story either
Ducking is what Donaire is doing with Rigondeaux or what Chavez Jr is doing with Sergio...that is a great example of "DUCKING"
what mayweather has that alot of fighters lack is consistency
Floyd wanted to fight Shane when Shane was still a lightweight but Shane moved up for the bigger prize at that time, which was Oscar at welter and the big payday that came along with that fight. Floyd wasn't really that well known then so you can't blame Shane, it was a business decision, and a smart one too. Roberto Duran did the same thing when he was a lightweight, he went after the big prize in Sugar Ray Leonard at welter rather than the unknown Aaron Pryor at jr. welter, who at that time was calling for a fight with Duran.
In 2006, Floyd called Shane out again but Shane had just had two fights with Fernando Vargas, and was looking forward to taking some time off and getting some dental work that he needed done,
One fighter that I think ducked Floyd is Joel Casamayor. I remember Floyd calling him out after a win at jr. lightweight and Casamayor never responded. Floyd also called out Kostya Tszyu more than once and got nothing.
but to answer your ? he should fight martinez canelo and ill be happy
alot of people forget before he retired in 07 he was calling out fighters but they had their own agendas. Mosley, Casamayor and Freitas didnt want none and non of them moved to lightweight either until Mayweather was long gone.....He called those guys out in him out for the last time after a fight, said he couldnt make 130 and was moving on to fight Castillo at 135. Floyd aint never ducked nobody, look at his resume.
At 135, Floyd tried to fight Spadafora and Johnston, he still beat Castillo who was the best LW of his era and the top LW there.
At 140, Floyd was suppose to fight Tszyu after Mayweather-Gatti and Tszyu-Hatton. tszyu lost to Hatton, who Floyd tried to fight right after that in England at 140 lbs. It was Hatton and his people who said no. That fight happened in 2007 when Hatton was still unbeaten and #8 P4P anyway. Also, Floyd during 2005 called Cotto and his camp out several times. It was Top Rank who didn't try to make that fight, because after Mayweather whupped Gatti, they said "Cotto isn't ready for Floyd". Vivian Harris???? Oh you mean the guy that lost on the Mayweather-Gatti undercard to Carlos Maussa, who Hatton ended up beating, Okay.
At 147, Floyd tried to fight Mosley in 2005-2006, do you forget this??? It was Shane who came up with all the excuses in the world to not fight Floyd. It probably had something to do with Shane's boss, Oscar, wanting the first shot at him. Anyways, they fought when Mosley had stopped Margarito, who was the "man" at 147, and when Msoley was the WBA WW champ/#2 WW/#3 P4P and when everyone wanted that fight. Clottey, Williams, Collazo, and Cintron......you're picking guys that aren't even on that radar during 06-07. Clottey didn't even get a good win until August 2008 against Zab Judah. Williams didn't get a good win until Margarito in Early 2007, and than split with Quintana in 2008. Collazo had a shot to beat Hatton, and though it was a very close fight, Hatton got the nod. Cintron, name one win at 147 where people were saying "Man he should fight Floyd", and I'll wait. Those guys, no one was talking about Floyd fighting those guys, NO ONE at that time. Margarito in 2006, as I stated in my earlier post, was the only one Floyd may have found a way around. It probably had something to do with him splitting from Top Rank and knowing he was in line to fight Oscar.
At 154, Floyd tried to fight Winky Wright actually, but you must not remember that. And by the time 2007 came around, Winky Wright had been at 160 for 2 years. Winky hadn't been at 154 since 2004 moron. Roman and Spinks????? Are you serious???? He could have fought Spinks, but Oscar was still a Top 3 SWW at the time after coming back to stop Mayorga, and was a mega fight. How can you knock Floyd for fighting Oscar when he was the #3 SWW and WBC SWW champ??? Forrest, to be fair, wasn't really on anyone's major radar after he lost twice to Mayorga. And his only notable win at 154 was against Quartey and Baldomir. He wasn't even on the major radar at 154 man.
Pure. Ether.
I want to see someone try and prove 4Corners wrong. Should be good.

Could Mayweather win these fight?
I would expect Floyd to lose more than half of them if he took them on.

Wow and that was how long ago!? Haha what prime ATg has PAC fought since moving up in weight? None
Oh wait I forgot clottey Bradley and Diaz are atg! Ha
But a former 106 fighter and flyweight champ beating these guy isn't that great? That is the beauty can't compare.

dont put words in my mouth...your fantasies are far like mines.....and thats the problem , floyd aint got no balls...
yall some straight up keyboard warriors, probably aint never been in a fist fight in your life, let alone been in the ring, and you are gonna basically call a professional fighter a coward....some nerve

I think Vernon and Winky would have been the toughest competition for Mayweather but fans at the time wasn't demanding those match ups AT ALL, it wasn't until AFTER THE FACT that people starting saying "VERNON FOREST AND WINKY WRIGHT would have been good match ups for Mayweather" YEARS LATER!

:haha: So you aren't happy with the balls Floyd currently has, and you fantasize about the set you would like to see on Floyd?
dont put words in my mouth...your fantasies are far like mines.....and thats the problem , floyd aint got no balls...
Floyd would have to beat Martinez, Pacquiao Augie Sanchez and Jose Louis Castillo on the same night, without Roger in his corner.
he would also have to beat Apollo Creed, Tommy Gunn, Mason Dixon, and a roided up Drago
i dont mean it as a literal thing mofo.....balls = bravery, something floyd knows nothing about...im sure he knows a lot about the literal one tho..:lol1:

You always amaze me how you can take a subject and turn it around to a discussion of the male genitalia... Got something to tell us?

he can have his crackhead uncle, thats no bigge...what he needs to have are "balls" to take on the best fights ...
