Of course Cotto is going to say that, he doesnt wana ruin the chance at fighting manny. Do you expect Cotto to say "its gonna be real tough to make 145 and im most likely not going to be 100% for the fight but yea i'll make the weight and try my best". Cotto has to sell himself and the fight to the public. Well of course Dawson was going to say he could make 168 lbs. Did you expect Dawson to say 168 lbs will be real tough to make and most likely I won't be 100% and ruin the chance of the fight with Ward.

It's because Pacquiao won that people whine about the catchweight. De La Hoya fight Pacquiao jumped from Super Feather to Light then to Welter to fight Oscar...145 lbs was the fair weight for Pacquiao-Cotto, and Pacquaio-Margarito should have been at Welter.

Weight draining is not about the numbers its about whether your weight drained or not ,,, I know its a bit hard for you to comprehend you might need to get into a gym and have a go to get a not so biased skewed view ! You try draining 16 lbs ou of you to make weight a see how good you feel.

After the Hatton fight, Roach talked at the big fight at welter but did not want Pacquiao to give away huge weight advantages in the ring against top welters. Lets not forget 18 months previous the guy was fighting at 130lbs. Roach said Cotto, Mosley and Mayweather, if he didn't take himself out of the picture were all viable candidates for a fight at 143/144lbs So Cotto knew what weight Pacquiao was going to be at, just like Dawson knew what weight Ward was going to be at. This thread is complete crap, since when is a legit weight class a catch weight? Jesus, some of the people on here... Well technically it isnt but then again if you demand a different weight to a fighters current weight class and its written into a contract I would take that as a CW , say the LHW Champ was going to meet the HW champ at CW its still a contractual CW in my eyes .

Cotto wanted the fight at 145lbs, it was his offer. His offer at the beginning of negotiations and he stuck to his guns. it was a offer that was made because team pac would not fight at 147 thats why cotto didn't wannt to put the tittle on the line

When did Cotto say he was drained? Miguel is my main man, and i never heard him say it leading up to the fight, or directly after it as an excuse. Before the fight he was talking about how he is gonna kick Pacs arse. He could have said im drained but i'll still kick his arse, but no. Just gonna kick his arse was what i recall. He said it the moment he was not under Arums contract ,,, get the picture idiot ! he also said he was pressured to accepting the CW , by who pray tell ? lol

As i said 145 is where Cotto was at his strongest. Floyd bloated Cotto up to 154, floyd likes bloating fighters so they gas out, like he did to JMM as well.
