He may be overhyped but he's the real deal. He's willing to fight the guys at 154 that Cotto was afraid to challenge.
i think he beats cotto too..could that fight happen??:boxing:
Alvarez vs. Lara will never happen. It should but it doesn't really have to. I think they'll put Lara in with other guys or Lara will just move up to 160.
Alvarez can fight Kirkland, Trout/Rodriguez, Molina, Cotto, etc.
I think most guys on boxing scene underrate him. They think he is a "hypejob". I think he is a great fighter on the way up. Either I am wrong or they are. He had some easy fights but so has every other fighter. He KOed Rhodes who was rated #4 in the world by Ring. He tried to get Williams and now he is trying to get Kirkland or Trout so they are not protecting him now. Those are all high rated guys. He would fight Cotto but he is resting. Lara is his biggest threat in my opinion and only Golden Boy knows if they are scared of Lara or not. I have faith in him and think he can beat Lara or anyone else at 154.
Of course Kirkland is a dangerous fight. He was being protected a few years ago, which is normal for a prospect on his way up, but his level of opposition has increased steadily. Kirkland will test him and make him show what he's made of IMO.
Kirkland will make a great effort but a few shots to the chin from Canelo's accurate punching will put him to rest.
did you guys forgot alvarez has a glass jaw is weak oponents wont expose him kirklan can
is alvarez protected or overrated??? is kirkland a legit threat and who would you like to see saul fight?????:boxing::boxing:
Alverez should be able to put Kirkland away but he has to be careful cause Kirkland could knock you out in the early rounds
A protected young fighter does not get put in the ring against P-Will. Canelo was scheduled to fight him next before the tragedy and now since that ain't happening, he's fighting the hard hitting champ at 154. The kid is only 21 for god's sake.
You fanboys should be urging your heroes to face each other instead of bashing young fighters for not facing the stars.
Hmmm that just turned a c class fighter to a D class fighter....
Put it this way..Kirkland is more "green" than Alvarez in terms of experience and boxing skills despite being older.
Williams, Kirkland, lol neither are worthy to be a Canelo opponent. Might as well just retire then if no one is good enough to fight him. Too green for Mayweather, Cotto, too good for Williams and Kirkland, he's ducking Lara and Molina. The kid is only 22 and is held to pretty high standard.
Kirkland vs any one at 154 not named Mayweather is a great fight. Williams would have been a great fight for any one at 154.
Is he protected...yes...but I'm not mad cause he only 21 and the p will fight was a dangerous one
Is he overrated?.... i like overexposed better. If Golden Boy wants to give him easy fights to gain experience and sharpen his skills..fine. but he shouldn't have a belt nor should he be headlining ppvs so that we can pay to watch him develop.
Does Kirk have a chance...no...Caneli neutralizes him, wears him down amd puts him on the canvas.
He's protected and overrated; Kirkland is a threat to anybody cause he can seriously bang but his comeforward style with a subpar chin is tailor made for Canelo.
OMG.u barely notice fa-gg boy is protected the biggest hype in history casual fans think he will be the best of all time thanks to all the bs gbp say about him and his outof prime and bought oponents
I don't think he's protected. They were willing to put him in there with P-Will, who isn't the hardest hitting guy but has a long reach and is very active. Now he'll be fighting a very dangerous and hard-hitting fighter in Kirkland. He's definitely got a puncher's chance to win, and Canelo's chin WILL be tested, but I think Alvarez pulls it out with a nice UD victory.
